if you look at ' stats' => 'contest'
you'll see :
Product: Breads Quality: 1 Price: 2

Score means amount of breads sold to contest company but has nothing to do with score rating in game. If you will win the contest (means you will sell the most breads to contest company of all) you will get gold medal. But this medal is always worth 300 points and it doesn't matter how many breads did you send into contest. Only that medals and certificates counts for score (gold medal 300points, silver 200, bronze 100 and one certicicate 10) no matter how many breads you had to send to get them.

So if you will finish at 100th place with 200 breads sent you will get one certificate. But this certificate is worth 10 points not 200....

I hope I described it clearly......

Contest certificates can be sold to other players, you can see several offers in the Status Symbol forum.

Game-wise they don't do anything for you except show how awesome you are.
