Special buildings...

Post by Guest » 19.06.2007, 17:40

Hello... It's me again... i just leveled up again today... yippeeee!!! now i can have special buildings... can you please tell me what those are good for and how they work and is there a profit in them ?
And i was reading about a 60 building limit ... another question on that... does the productivity that one has made before change to less as we change from retailer to trader to small business men? Is there a penalty in productivity for having lots of the same kind of buildings?
And also i have noticed my price changed the warehouse of my water that i produce from .02 to 5.95.... what happened it caused all my other products cost i made to go up ... am i being charged that much when producing ? or am i being charged .02 for my water when used as normal even tho it is showing 5.95 a unit. Basically worried about if it effects my cash.

So many questions! :)

Congrats! The special buildings you just got access to are for score. Some are just holding spaces for score items, others give special quests you can do for extra points. (For example, if you build a Kindergarten you'll be asked to donate 500 each of 4 specific products, in return for which you get 1 point.) It can be an interesting thing to add to your experience, but since they cost money and don't make any, don't jump on them right away.
And i was reading about a 60 building limit ...
Special buildings don't count toward the building limit. This includes both kinds of special buildings just discussed, and also the special "Administrator" buildings you can buy if you have a premium account.

Yes. Every level. You can find specific information here.

Nope.

People have been reporting that lately, though so far as I can tell no one knows how exactly. It doesn't affect your cash in any way though. It's just an error in how the warehouse notes the cost, not what you actually paid.

Where is the best place to build a special building... i know it dont help profit wise but do i put it in the country where i have my office?

The only way it matters is that employees in special buildings count in the country's total, increasing the population and thereby the demand on products. So if you have stores, it's a good idea to put your special buildings where the stores are.

So as i level up it will take more time to produce the amount amount of units i am doing at the moment? Bummer then to look forward to leveling up isn't it? If for our efforts to success we get stymed by slower or lesser production of our companies... I read the thread you linked me with and i am confused ... first it says increase... then it says about a decrease...
Do we lose or gain in productivity ? Hehehe... heading on to be a broke billionaire ... hahahaha!

all the production buildings suffer a decrease in produtivity as you level, i believe its a measure to help new ppl in to the game, big companies will focus on retail and research, small companies on production.

Increasing time is decreasing production. More minutes per item means fewer items per day.

It's done like that so players who come along later have a chance at catching up. As you can see it doesn't exactly stop the biggest players from pushing on.

then it's best not to get the level up???????

Well it's rather inevitable ...

Since you asked though, one of the smarter things you can do is watch closely just before you level up. When you approach say 4mil, try not to go just over it by a few caps. Instead, stay below it as much as possible, letting supplies you'll need later and products to sell fill up in your warehouse, etc.

Then, when you've stayed under the level long enough, start your factories for a good long production, whatever you can handle. (I tend to figure 3 days is pretty long since I'm usually on a 12 or 24 hours schedule.) Once they're started, you can sell off the finished product you've been holding. Hopefully if you do it right you should be able to make a nice jump, from 4 mil to 4.5 mil or higher almost instantly. This will let you keep the better production rate as long as possible.

However leveling up does come with some benefits. Notably at manager level you can finally sell research or buildings to other players, as well as participate in a few other things. And if you had naver made Retailer you wouldn't have a Notepad or Address book, both of which can be handy.
