Does this get faster or slower with time?

Here is enough space for all players to ask questions about the game.

Does this get faster or slower with time?

I just started Kapilands and finished the tutorial, which had me growing fruit and selling it in a grocery store. But to produce any decent amount of fruit was going to take so long, I figured it was because the planation was so small. Twenty square meters is the barely the size of two bedrooms, hardly a "plantation." So I tried to buy another 80 square meters. I thought it would be instant, but it's going to take 20 hours or so!

Then I thought I'd better improve the quality of the fruit since customers comlained about that, but it's taking another 20 hours just to go from level 1 to level 2. How long is it going to take once you're going from, say, level 19 to level 20?

I didn't expect arcade speed, but even Travian and Imperia, both known as slow strategy games, don't take this long. What gives? And if this slow speed is normal, why does the game have so many choices? You'll invest months before realizing you went into the wrong line of business!

(sorry if this has been asked and answered. I searched for "slow," "pace," and "time," and found nothing)

First of all, the fruit industry is definetely not for people who just started the game. You're right about the fact that 20m

Good question.

This is a real-time game, so essentially the nature of it is "set production and wait." I would say most of us do most of our business about twice a day, with the occasional check-in between for contracts or when we know a research is completing. It does get busier as you get more buildings but the essential nature of the game doesn't change.

In your case I would say you did make a mistake, and if you just started it's big enough you should probably reset. As long as you have space to do so, it's almost always more efficient to buy a new facility than expand an existing one. (Research is the exception for obvious reasons.) Since a basic account can have 60 buildings, and you're nowhere near that amount yet, you should consider a restart.

Also, new players get a speed bonus building their first five (I think?) buildings so that will also get you moving faster than expanding.

A simple fruit business is not the worst you can get into, but it's not the best either. If you want to do a bit of reading there is a huge post by me here where I give some basics about getting started and picking better products. It's long but I hope educational.

If you want to talk in game, possibly set up as a supplier to me depending on what industry you want to go into, send me an IGM.
