Stats - Price and Quality

Post by Guest » 25.04.2007, 13:30

The stats only give you the average quality vs. price.

How can I calculate how much I should sell my stuff for if its a certain quality and things?

I haven't searched for long on these forums but I cannot find anything at the moment!

Thanks,

Hi and welcome to the board,
there are several threads here stating the experience of the other players. And here is one which is quite interesting, I think: http://www.forum.kapilands.com/viewtopi ... =sell+shop It does include formulas and hints for curves, but also statements about how players fill their shops.

I hope this helps, otherwise pls ask ;-)

Price etc.

Ok so I have worked out to produce one orange it costs 0.28 (thats not including electicity but yeh dw :) ).

If i sell @ :

0.5 i get 17.6 profit every minute
1.0 i get 6.76 profit every minute
1.25 i get 3.96 profit every minute
1.5 i get 2.54 profit every minute

I know I have gone somewhere wrong because I cannot see why i don't just sell at the lowest possible price as I get more profit for every minute I am selling. Otherwise everyone would do it... (i am not counting for the fact I have to be on my PC every 10minutes, but other than this?)

Thanks

Remember you should calculate profit at GROCERY only. As a cost of grocery should be taken lost opportunity cost of selling your orange at the market (or arranged contract) and earning the profit of your PLANTATION. If you have long production path you should not forget that you have to earn at every step/building.

Let's assume you can earn net of 3.00/kg by selling the oranges at the market. Selling at 0.5/kg actually DESTROYS 2.50/kg of value.

If you repeat your calculations with the proper input cost you most probably will arrive at maximum profit earned by the grocery at some 4.50-5.00. If you want to optimize the profit of your plantation/grocery complex the optimum price will be most probably even little higher, but this is difficult to calculate due to missmatch between production capacity and selling speed.

In any case PLS don't use the cost stated in warehouse as a input to your grocery if you are producing the ware. Otherwise your return on combined assets of the production line will be very low (which is in fact the case of some 50% players of this game)

Just my few cents to pump my posts counts :)

If you take the lowest price you will destroy average prices.... that means your grocery won't make any profit some time in future...

If you produce apples using seeds of a higher q than 0, cancel the production, the seeds not used will go back into your warehouse as q0 and the price for these seeds will be 0,00: that means the average costs of seeds q0 will be calculated wrong... and this will not be changed

So you should take the average prices just as a rough guide for your prices in your shops...
