obviously its not by ur math ...
but ur getting market prices for approximation -not only does that mean theyre already overpriced objects because others arent buying them, but theyre also market item costs - they wont just produce cars ... theyll have steel, or theyll have electronics or something ... do it with the base cost of producing steel urself ... lots of steel goes into cars, and that production would be the best model for someone to move into cars ...
cars are also at the builders expense ... they can sell it for watever they want at the shop to raise the price in the stats window ... there are less than 10 cars in most places

You are correct of course. As long as steel prices remain where they are, nothing made using steel will be particularly profitable. Not at q0 anyway.
However, as firda just said rather well over in the Suggestions forum, for some people getting into an industry is not about how dominant the profit is. It's about setting themselves up in the role of a carmaker for fun.

You can still make a profit if you make your own steel, but you will get much more money if you sell it to other players than making cars.silverk wrote:my steel costs under 10 per to make ya know
A car takes 900 steel, which alone would get you 117000 if you sell it at 130, which is much more than you'd get for a car.
