Re: Expand one? A few? All at the same time? Or sell them? H
There is many ways how to expand and manage your company, this is what make kapilands interesting.
In your situation I could expand 5 plantation up to 100sqm, then next 5 plantations and so on. Only 5 because starting company havnt much cash on hand and producing is essential. Then you can build 7-8 textile factories and make textiles and other textile products by your self and get more profit. Produce only Q0 products at start - cotton, textiles, jeans, shoes.
Other way is to produce sugar canes in your plantations, build Food factories and making sugar, cocoa powder. Also, only Q0.
Buildings expansion take years. If you want faster start, only way is to buy coins and sell to other players. Then you can buy big buildings from market.
P.S. Textile factories/ Food factories build only in red area. Plantations in green of course.

your company is asking for a plantation contest. prepare for it. break down 2 production facilities, and build a cattle and plant research center and a mine and well research center in red. Upgrade these research centers as quick as possible. Then: use your research centers and research everything possible until around Q12. hope that the right contest will arrive once and you get a lot of money in 2 weeks. Have some money in stock when contest starts.
Moreover:
first upgrade a few then produce with them and upgrade others. In the beginning the production will increase a lot.
Good luck.

If you ask me, you should keep your plantations untill they reach about 4000 sqm. During that time you can produce quite decent amounts of stuff and sell it for decent money, and you dont lose much from the productivity decline. However, while you upgrade your farms, you should also build atleast 2 research centers which should research/expand all the time. When you have that, you only need to decide which RC's to build and which products you will want to research and then produce. Me, for example, I went into perfumes business. Its not much profits, nor do i get the chance to win contests. But! I get the chance to make kapiwomen more appeaseble to kapimen, thus producing new kapichildren, which will someday turn into kapiconsumers

Right now you could produce rubber in your plantations there is a shortage of rubber on market.
When I was small I started so:
First day of contest: Build 10 Contest buildings -> Expand them 5 days -> Produce 7 days the contest product -> Sell the contest product and take a Contest Certificate -> Destroy or sell those buildings.
The other 50 buildings where producing other stuff or expanding.
And you will not be bored at all.

Cotton will only increase in price but dependant on textile price increases. You could move further into the textile chain and produce textiles you need roughly 3x plantation m2 to textile factory space to keep up with production so say 30x 20m2 plantations to 10x 20m2 textile factories. Not something you can really give advice on though as its your company to run and you may wish to change production at some point.
