Domestic mices?

What's up with those domestic mices? I see they are worth 20 points. But they have different qualities.

How do you get such mices, and how do they get their qualities (status symbols have no qualities normally)? Do their quality mean anything?

Qualities for mouse or any other animal means "It has grown" You feed them (cats and dogs with animal food, mice and fishes - with corn) and it grows!
What can you do with its quality? Nothing. But some players like to see their animal in the "Top animals", on the statistic page...
