No mater if you are a small company, you can arrive in short time to play close to bigger companies and to compete with them! All depends of how fast you want to grow up your company, witch business you choose, which deals you make and how often you play! 
Anyway is a long time playing game and is never to late to join us!
Ex. I arrived bigger than other players who has joined this game 1 year before me and there are players who are bigger than me and has joined this game after me ....
