Store sell time estimation

Post by Guest » 04.06.2010, 04:24

Does anyone know a good way/formula/tool that helps me estimate how long it would take for a particular product of particular quality sell out in a store?

For example, Lets say I have 100 cars and I would like to know what is the best price to sell them at so they all get sold in about 24 hours?

there is no formula. You have to use trial and improvement, and there is a very good thread some where about ow to do but I can't find it, think Knolls wrote it.

Selling at the best price doesn't not neccessarily mean they will sell in 24hrs, if you really want them all to sell in 24hrs set them in your store and keeping adjusting the price until it takes 24hrs

You can use kapitools (google for it :D)
It has a calculator that calculates times of selling and many other things!

Exactly.
I have been using that calculation since my second week in Kapilands and finding the middle ground of time and price is actually better (in my opinion). But really, to each their own.

I agree with you guys, but my reason for the 24 hours figure is I produce x products in 24 hours. So my ideal price is the highest price possible that I can sell them in under 24 hours before the next batch is done.

I realize I could set a lower price and I could sell them much faster and if I had more product available would make more profit however I don't have more product

You're wrong.
It will be more profitable for you to sell it for the most profitable price (as if you bought it from the market) it will make you maximum profit per hour.
and the left overs you can just sell to other players.

Hmm, good point actually.

Any tips on quick n easy method to discover that optimal price?

Well...
First find at what price you can buy/sell that product in the market
then when retailing, set prices, and calculate with which you'll get more caps per hour

I do it like this:

caps per hour = (retail price - market price)/time

the time is how long it takes to sell :)
