How does stock work?

I don't understand how the prices of stock drops and rises? Can you please explain everything about stocks?

Here's the basic explanation: They don't work.

That pricing system doesn't change, it's not effective for anything, but the programmers haven't removed it for some reason.

actually it does work, but there should be huge amount of players buying stocks (realy, realy alot) I've seen it goes up by 0.01 once

In Realm 1 stocks cost like 0.06 and big players buy them so that they can show off.

In Realm 2 however they cost around 400 each so you lose a lot of money.
