Automotive Help
Currently I produce Oil. Though I am getting a bit bored. So I though maybe change product and was wondering how hard is making cabriolets? It is supposed to be the hardest product on Kapilands to produce, so I was thinking it might be fun. Can someone give me some advice.
Re: Automotive Help
Sure. Cars are actually a bit harder than cabriolets because of that extra 100kg of Steel you need to make them. You need 912 kg of Steel per Car, 812 kg of Steel per Cabriolet, and 196 kg Steel for Motorbikes.kingrewt wrote:Currently I produce Oil. Though I am getting a bit bored. Bottom line, motorbikes are quicker to make, use much less building materials, and yield higher net profits. I speak from confirmed experience.
He's a friggin giant company though, plus he did it for the logistics appeal to it (according to his interview with Sally on the KapiTimes).kingrewt wrote:Though doesn't Marxer make cabriolets. Thanks for the tips though how many car factory should I build and should I sell the products or sell in my own shops?
I am doing pretty good with just four car factories that are a total of 3,000 m2 in size and at my level (Billionaire) and I have everything I need. I can churn out over 3,000 bikes a week. If I bought from the market (or contract from another player) I could double that or triple it. But my net profits would be shot to high noon. If I get my back inventory stocked up (my steel), I can in theory build 1,000 bikes a day now. The only parts I buy are the seeds and oil. That's it. The rest is made by me. Just remember, I chose to do this, I am not suggesting you follow what I do.
Q15 bikes for me, sell for 20k + 1k/Q still earns me a net 25k per bike. If I used the market/contract method, I would make 2 to 4k each bike. That's a maybe.
However, this was discussed between Azer and I last month, and I don't want any trouble.
Please note: If anyone objects to my advice or has a dire need to flame me, please do so in PM and not on the forum. Thank you.
12 slots of car factories, and you contract out players for the materials to build the bikes, car, or cabriolets? That'd work.
Hellenic Industries (Realm 2) would be the guy to go too. He can make high quality, high volume parts for you (engines, car bodies, and tires).
Ghandor2 (Realm 2) also sells the 3 parts I mentioned above, but they are of lower quality.
rubyton (Realm 2) is another guy with only slightly higher quality parts than Ghandor.
That should get ya going.

Cars
if you can make a large enough car lot to sell the cars you make, and get full advert(40k) then you'll make better money then you would selling to other players Via contract, Never sell a item on market, with auto's you want to cut costs where you can or it can get the best of you, i wouldn't sell on open market
I make both cars and cabriolets on realm 1 and the extra 100 steel cost sucks for cars, it better to make cabriolets because maxter has maxed out the cost of cabriolets. I make everything I need for my cabrio's. I thinking of selling my 14 powerplants because I can buy power at .27 from the profit I make selling oil or gas depending on where I am in the cycle on my factory in making steel. This would also give me 14 more car factories. only problem is they would probably sit empty unless I bought 8 mines and 6 car factories. I won't share with you the cost of making a cabrio by making everything myself but I have experimented with buying power at .27 when I had no power in the warehouse and making everything the difference in price. Also buying water from the market still doesn't even come close to eating the profits from oil and gas. The boost in cost on making the cars and cabrio's really doesn't hurt your profit on cars or cabrios'.
If you go to TiB and in the presentation section you can look at my setup http://tibft.freeforums.org/portal.php
If i had to do it again like i said I would change the 14 power plants to 8 mines and 6 car factories, Which I am fixing to do.

i produce motorbikes as a side business (i only have 5 factories) but i have learnt a lot from this.
quality of some parts is much more important than price.
for expample producing q10 e components on your own is not as profitable for you as buying q30 e ccomponents for 1000c!
a motorbike needs 3 e components (in it and in the engine).
assuming that you pay 100c to produce one, you pay 300 and earn 2+10=12 quality points which can be transformed in 1500 c (as one q in the final product is 1000c)
so 1500-300=1200c
on the other hand buying q30 e components for 1000 c you earn 36 quality points which can be translated in 4500 c.
so it is 4500-3000=1500c.
and you have an extra slot free.not to mention the slot (or slots) for the e components recearch.
in the calculations it is assumed that one quality point gives profit 1000/8
this is the way i calculate things and it seems right to me..
so before you decide to buy a product or produce it you have to think carefully and not choose the wway that seems cheaper...
i am sorry for the bad explanation of my strategy as my english is bad and it becomes worse as time goes by!
happy new year!

You have me curious Adon, what is the unit price of your motorbikes? Not the price you charge customers, the unit price of the motorbike in the warehouse.AdontheGreek wrote:i produce motorbikes as a side business (i only have 5 factories) but i have learnt a lot from this.

I produce everything my self for the simple thing i don't like depending on other people cause well I hate to be waiting on something I need to produce something. Granite i Know I won't make a ton of cabrios but I constantly make them and that is more important to me. Ideally I would have a supplier for everything and have 59 car factories and 1 tech center and 40 dealers but that means realing on a whole bunch of people and well many things that go into a cabrio are not profitable to many players.
Though some things for cabriolets are easier to get than others. Like Oil and power is needed and you can get them pretty easily. I am still thinking about making them, all depends on coffee powder prices in Germany. If I do go in, i would probably make stuff and sell to other car makers, as I couldn't be bothered having so many parts to source or make.
There is another automotive route you can go with. Produce Car Bodies, Engines, and Tires. Seems like Adon would give you a lot of business.kingrewt wrote:Though some things for cabriolets are easier to get than others. Like Oil and power is needed and you can get them pretty easily.
