How Advertisement Points Affect the time taken to sell?

Post by Guest » 03.10.2009, 21:49

It was common knowledge uptil now that 40,000 ad points halved the time taken to sell any product compared to zero ad points.

Thanks to the efforts of euanmead12 in this post: http://www.forum.kapilands.com/viewtopi ... ht=#112226

The formula simply goes:

Code: Select all

                            80000 - AP
New Selling Time = OST  x  ------------
                              80000
where OST is the Original Selling Time with no ad points.

But what if you currently have 10k ad points and do not know the selling price at 0 ad points?

In that case you use the following formula:

Code: Select all

                     CT (80000 - NA)
New Selling Time =  -----------------
                        80000 - CA
CT = Current Selling Time
CA = Current Ad Points
NA = New Ad Points

So if you current have 20,000 ad points with a selling time of 10 minutes. And you are planning to add more ad points to your store till 40,000 ad points.
In that case, your
CT = 10 mins
CA = 20000
NA = 40000

Or you can just put is in simple terms.

40,000 Ad points sells goods in half the time of 0 Ad points
Or
40,000 Ad points sells the same amount of goods as 0 Ad points with a 25% price increase.

This was only for the people who wanted to calculate the time taken, with points less than 40,000. (Since, not everyone is swimming in money like you, Azer :wink: ) hehe.

yeah, quite useless effort :D if you want to prove yourself, try determining the formula for sales time with regard to stats price&quality

I will do it if a lot of people want it. I love Math ^^ (weird, I know)

here is my formula.

i will use gas as an example.

average price (France) 75 caps
average quality 22

75/22=3.41

divide 3.41 by 2.(1.7)
22*1.7=37.5.
75-37.5=37.5

so i sell at 37.5+1.7Q

why divide by 2?

im not sure but it works with every product.

it would be better if you used symbols instead of actual numbers, because if you write 80/2 = 40 and then 80 - 40 = 40, that is ambigous - if you say x/y=z and then x-z=w, then there is no room for misunderstanding ;) oh and what does that formula tell you? optimal price? selling time? amount of ammunition used by an average player of some shooting game on sunday afternoon per hour? not counting hand grenades? :D

I know how to calculate the (near) exact price for selling a full stock in 24 hrs. I would post the formula but I wouldn't bother posting it. If you want you can just ask me.
