Contests-For Newbies?? Yes/No?

Post by Guest » 04.09.2009, 12:50

There has been lots of talk and advie that newbies should sell contest products.

So the current contest is silver q4.

How does a Newbie do that?

Impossible?

Yes unless you had a research center about 200msq.

But...

Maybe...

There is an oppintunity.

I would like some experience to cast some advice but...

Lots of comapnys still want silver.

For example someone might need silver q1 or q0 so newbies could produce that in contests.

Is this a good idea.

I may adopt it!

Advice?

Have i missed something?

People might still wan silver, but the value probably never reaches the value of Q4 silver.
So no, that prolly won't do you any good either.

Silver however is a terrible contest item for newbs for the obvious reason of needing a lot of research.
You could still do the research and start late, but it isn't great.

Usually contests are a lot better for small companies but still, usually you need some research, hence the advise to have some RC's.

Yep usualy its somthing that has componets (ie: fruit Q5 is easy with seeds ect ect) so new guys can work with it. Not this time however, even I had trouble and I have a 8k RC :D

In most contests there seems to be a common thread of stimulating industy that hass little or no activity such as silver. There is a high Q demand to be sure but nothing any new player can actualy obtain without a huge RC to back them and I dont see many noobies running around with 10k RCs :P

Luckly in this area the mines built can be used for other items but the research not so much. The same thing happens with other contests, except the builds usualy have no other profitable use once the contest is over so we have fire sales with dozens of 100-200m builds going for nothing. Good if you can make a margin profit on the high ROI but most get sold off to the ai to make way for the next contest builds and thus more profit.

Any contest product that is made in a mine is of no use to a newbie and never makes huge amounts of money for non mining companies... there is just to many big boys to make it worth the investment...

The odd/lesser made products are far better/profitable products for newbies...
