No thats just an average. Q18 3k wont necessary mean that people are selling Q18 for 3k but the way the stats average it just works that way.
Felix's answer below is better than this...

The average Quality is Q18, so it's quite high meaning lots of people are selling high Q wardrobes- but because they take longer to sell the ones that sell quicker count more towards the average price. eg 10,000 Q0 wardrobes at 2500 will mean that counts a lot more towards the average price than a store that sells 1,000 Q30wardrobes at 5000 each

Yeah, but even Q0 should be sold at at more than 3000. For the average to be 3000, there must be hordes of people selling at 2500. They're wrong, aren't they? How can so many people be wrong?

It happens all the time. Most people don't know about optimizing prices when retailing.

I recommend not even looking at the stats page for Wardrobes. Just fill the store full then change the price until it sells in 48 hours. (That is ideal for retailing Wardrobes.)

Assuming that Q0 wardrobes cost 2000, I find that profit per employee hour (profit per day in a given shop) is maximized at a price of about 3000, which sells in about 3 days. If you account for the price of wardrobes at a higher value, then the optimum selling price would be higher and the selling time would be longer.

Azer, are you assuming that Q0 wardrobes cost less than 2000? Or does your system apply only to high Q wardrobes? (We are talking about Realm 2, aren't we?)

Slightly related topic.....

Is the avg quality and price, just over the last day or a number of days ?

Straw, It applies to higher qualities. (Not only HIGH qualities.) I always seem to forget about people with lower quality products.

Podge, the stats page updates every 24 hours and only take into effect the last days sales.

Well, if someone would sell me a joinery, I could make Q10 wardrobes from Q0 materials. Say, you must have joineries ...

Sorry, I have no joineries on either realm. (Realm 2 - 100 Mines | Realm 1 - Plantations, Cattle-Breeding, Textile Factories, Textile Stores and Jewelers)

No wonder people prefer high Q. Selling a full shelf of 4000 wardrobes in Germany:

---Q-----Price-------------Selling time
---0-----3000-------83 h. 51 min. 23 sec.
--11-----3550-------56 h. 22 min. 43 sec.
--11-----4030-------83 h. 48 min. 57 sec.

People pay 50 per Q of wardrobes, but in this test, it's worth 93.6.

as far as i remember, its around 75 per quality. you sure you made your tests on same day?

and yes, the wardrobe retailers also want to have some benefit from buying higher quality wardrobes so they only pay 50 more per quality increase. or in r1, they pay 60.

I made my tests in the same minute, and about 5 or 10 minutes before I posted.

Keep in mind you get less for each quality jump. Q11 Wardrobes may be worth 93.6 a Quality but Q40 may be worth 49 a Quality.
