You can't... not till you reach 'Manager' level
Additional unlocks:
Retailer: Address and notice book
Trader: Buy status symbols
Small Businessman: Special buildings
Businessman: -
Wholesaler: -
Manager: Bank / stock exchange, Sale of buildings, technologies and score boards
Us beginning folk are stuck with building what we need.... not that we could afford the millions needed anyhow.

go to the "Build" page in game to get buildings.
I believe you cannot buy buildings from other players until you reach "Manager" status, which happens later on in the game as your company gets bigger.

Don't feel too old, I've a feeling there will be a fair number of us older gamers would be drawn to a game like this one

Haha, that makes me wonder what the average age of a Kapilands gamer is

Actually age is a very small barrier here, im 16 but we get players up to 40+ all over the place. Me-thinks its because of the lack of a RPG or action element so older players can play without having to run around killing stuff for 3 days straight

One of the 40+ gamers here
Its about stratagy and forward planning rather than instant gratification and blowing the crud out of things with 'special moves' that tie your fingers in a knot.... hence I'd assume the average age maybe a bit higher than a lot of online games.

Well I work in a Psychiatric Prison so yeah this is really relaxing and entertaining without the blood and violence. HAHAHA I think Im getting addicted Im afraid to let my co-workers know about this game because they might do what I do (stay in the office lock the door and play) haha. But yeah its a nice escape from reality.

I'm really young then, I'm about to turn 22 next week.
I work in a company that supplies construction materials, I'm pretty much doing the same thing in Kapilands

Being able to unwind is a neccessity or you'd end up as bad as the guys you are looking after
