I have 2 research points in Oil (With a third being researched)

Yet when I produced some Oil to sell on the market this morning it was quality 0

In your well(s) you have a option up the top called quality level hit that and enter 100 instead of 0. That means that your well with produce whatever your research level allows untill it reaches 100, you can put in 200 if you want but it makes no diff

No. your next batch will be Q1

You need to add the qualities of all the elements that go to make a product and divide by the number of elements.

So:- oil Q2 + power Q0 / 2 =Q1

I think thats right, no doubt someone will pull me up if it's not.

So given power quality can't be improved the produced oil will always have half the quality level that your research is at?

OK thanks, looks like it will be Wednesday evening before I'm producing Q2 oil then and the batch I start in an hour once the latest batch of water is finished will be Q1!

Produced oil has quality = floor( Q / 2 ), where Q is your oil research. Every time your research hits a multiple of 2, your output quality goes up by 1.
