if you decide a building is crap or you no longer need it as part of your plan you can sell it to regain money and build another

no, you can sell a building to the system at any level. you can sell a building to other players as a manager.

ya but if you have 100 building then you are close to Manager lvl or already is then why dont you just wait till you are and sel them that way and make a profit on something you dont want

I understood your question in that way that you ask whether you can make profit by selling buildings?
If so... I have to come back to this manager issue
It is difficult to say how building trade will develop in course of the time, as everybody is becoming richer here...

And if you want to sell it to the system: Click onto the building you want to sell, you will see "sell building" and there you can sell it back to the system. But pls keep in mind the advice given by the others here

75%, not counting the wood, steel, and stone used.

Don't do it regularly, but it's not too bad. (BTW, you can click the "sell" link in any building to see how much you'd get. It doesn't happen until you click "execute." Be careful with that though.)
