btw, is it optimize automatically?

No first you need to get it to a factor of 4000 (4000, 8000, 12000...)

Then you go to your expand button in your building and click optimize

Well say if you expanded to 4010m2 then you would be able to optimize your building for 4000m2. You either have to achieve one of those factors or bypass it.

no you go to hire employees and there is a button that says "optimize"

when you expand you builings to 4000, 8000, 12000, 16000, 20000, 24000, 28000, or 32000

you get to optimize you building, you go to the expand area of your building and click on optimize

then you will get increased production, (not much) but still an increase
