Well, it is very ideal to save up your money. However, if you like the money you make with power/water, continue in that. Another idea is to latch onto the emerging oil/gas market.

the problem is that oil takes a long time to produce.

well, first off you can do approx 500 oil a day in production. now, in terms of selling gas to the stations, i dont know anything about that yet because i am still in building stages.

You're on a good start. One option is oil and gas. Keep in mind that even if you don't have selling buildings, you can always sell to other players on the market. So you can sell your oil directly to other players on the market. You can also sell your gasoline to other players or you would need a gas station to sell it to the game. You just need to compare your profit in each case and what you can afford to produce.

If you are interested in quick turnaround, I might suggest you try a mine. With your own power plant and well for water, your costs will be lower and the mine can produce many different items that you can sell directly to other players on the market for a decent profit.

I agree with tim entirely, however i also recomend research of anything you choose to do. in almost all cases, higher qualities result in more income.

To expand on montoya's ... try and research something which u hope to produce not too soon, but also not too far away ... in other words, dont research something which wont be profitable to you next week or which you wont be using until next month.

Try and pick a product that you wish to produce, check out the Stats section (supply and demand and the cash section for different end-items in different countries) to figure out what may be profitable to you when you can get to it.

Yes, i agree with getus. An example of this is how i am researching cattle again when i am not even in ownership of a cattle ranch.
