Private Contest

Post by Guest » 01.03.2008, 16:05

I've got a question only to moderators or administrators.

If i want to make a regular contest for a group of persons, and i want the prize is 50 000 stones in price 3 caps per each... Is it legal? I know stones can't cost 0 caps (of course i have these 50k stones) that's why i put 3, but it can still be like... cheat?

So i ask: can i make such contest with prize in price veeeery low?

I still don't understand. I know (or i think) that these rules are created to prevent players from creating some accounts and making one giant company.

I want to ask, can i make such contest? Only to TIB members, because i want so (:P), but i don't want to get banned. I think it's enough to tell i don't want to cheat :)

Well... you want to achieve "veeeery low" prices? ;)
As Zbombe wrote: Keep the rules in mind and try to think about their meaning. If you are not sure if a price is too low, why don't you easily set it higher? ;)

No. I just want to make a contest for "some group of persons", and i don't want prize was expensive. If it would be up to me i would send prize for 0 caps, but i know then it would be cheat and i would be banned.

I don't want to achieve low prices. If weekly i send 50 000 stones for 3 caps each, or 10 000 steel 40 caps each... It's not much.

So i ask: can i make such contest, or not (i mean: if i will make it, i will be banned?)

You should increase your prices. Just look at market price and use a slightly lower price. Maybe stones for 20 each and steel for 130 each. I would most likely go with a 10% percent or lower discount on the market prices so it is like selling on the market at market price except without the fee.

You know, i didn't heard about paying for contest prizes :/ I want these, who want be members of my lottery be under level Entrepreneur, so the prize can help them very much in growing their company. My idea is not cheating, so i think such contest should be legal. If i'd send prizes to one company weekly (because i want my lottery be weekly) then it would be cheat, but in lottery the same player never wins again.

To be honest: After Zbombe's and my postings... where is your question? ;)
You won't get a guideline of prices that are allowed and prices that are too cheap. Otherwise cheating would be made too easy because people woul stick to that guideline... ;)

If you are unsure, just choose higher prices for stones etc. and you should be fine. Or you don't start such contests...
But one additional hint: Make sure that everything goes the way it has to go. :D

So, you want to help some companies below Entrepreneur, but not all. I don

PowerEnterprise, even if we gave you a thumbs-up on your 3c point, how would you measure the contest? People need to send you the goods, right? Or were you going to do something like a trivia contest?

I recommend using one of the score gifts as a prize. That's sort of what they're made for.

1. I haven't money on my phone to buy coins to buy prizes ;]
2. As i told (or not? if no, sorry) it's not a contest with sending me any products, but a lottery. So players guess numbers, and this, who is the closest to correct number wins.
3. I respect all rules of the game, that's why i'm asking on this forum :]

I really doubt they will let you do it because it will cause a large chain reaction with a huge disaster at the end.

1. They let you give your contest winners prizes very cheap

2. Everybody else want to do it and start begging

3a. They let everybody do contests with prizes sold very cheap
3b. or they put an end and stop everybody from holding private contests with cheap prizes

4 (From 3a). Everybody will be able to have private contests

5a. Cheaters will have a way of transferring money between accounts leading back to 3b
5b. A lot of complaints about the contests will form (not receiving prizes, canceled by owner, etc.) which leads back to 3b

Please just listen to the rules and don't beg to have a private contest become an exception to the rules. It will just make more work for the staff.

You can buy coins with the money in the game from other players. The points are well worth the cash spent on the coins to get them since people that want those points really badly will pay very well.

Yeah, but i'm only Entrepreneur, so i haven't got much money, so my lottery is for Entrepreneur-

I asked, because i think my initiative good. I think players, who aren't in any organisation (like tib) shouldn't be able to create contest. And one more thing: contests would be then under control of moderators, so if one player wins each lottery... you know what then :P

And one more thing: if i ask about my lottery on official forum of the game, isn't it a prove of that i'm not a cheater? :P

And one more thing: if i bought 60 coins, why the hell i'd want to cheat?

And one more thing: i think there should be up to 10 private lotteries able at the same time to prevent cheaters.
