ok, last idea:
  • :arrow: open firefox
    :arrow: tip in as url: about:config
    :arrow: scroll down to security.checkloaduri
    :arrow: right mouse button - in the menu there must be something like switch, change it
    :arrow: now there should be a false in the line of security.checkload where before has been a true
    :arrow: now change again the path of the gfx-pack in your profile
    :arrow: close mozilla and open again

Well, I don't know what exacly you are doing there, but sometimes it seems to help. I remember I have also had a little fight with my mozilla firefox, but I can't remember how I have won it :wink:
The only thing I know is that I can use the same path in IE and in FF

And one last question: when you look at your folder metropolis - which folders do you see there?

Woot! I got it now

The problem was in user.js, I noticed the instructions told to set it to http://www.kapilands.com but when I looked at the url when I logged in I saw http://www.w2.kapilands.com.

I guess different url for realm2?

So changing url to include that w2 sub name made it work!

Thanks

Sorry for unburrying the tread but i have a question ... Is there any chance support for Gears to be in sight.

Personally i preffer FF and meddling with local security policies is not a nice thing to do (in fact all the instructions do that).

Well it won't be equivalent to GFX pack but still will speed the things up a lot

GFX Help

Post by Guest » 31.10.2009, 03:12

I tried to get GFX working tonight and ran into some difficulties.
Any help is appreciated. :)

I can get several of the color schemes to work but never with icons/pictures.

I do not know if its important but when relogging in and out the link is adding \'s when I look at the link in the profile window.

I am making sure I can see both pics and styleman when I copy the link.

Thanks in advance.

GFX can work with Firefox if you load it from web not from computer. Just upload it on free host or find uploaded and copy url in your profil

Just copy-paste to user.js

Code: Select all

// Allow Kapilands to use local files
user_pref("capability.policy.policynames", "localfilelinks");
user_pref("capability.policy.localfilelinks.sites", "http://www.w2.kapilands.com");
user_pref("capability.policy.localfilelinks.checkloaduri.enabled", "allAccess");
or if you play on both server use follows:

Code: Select all

// Allow Kapilands to use local files
user_pref("capability.policy.policynames", "localfilelinks");
user_pref("capability.policy.localfilelinks.sites", "http://www.w2.kapilands.com http://www.kapilands.com");
user_pref("capability.policy.localfilelinks.checkloaduri.enabled", "allAccess");
Do not use this if you do not want to allow access for all websites to your local files

Re: About GFX package.

Post by Guest » 08.02.2010, 20:46

I am using IE 7.0. But I couldn't establish GFX package. I unzipped gfx package. I put the link to the profile C:/kapiland-gfx/kapiland-gfx/.

I tried everything but it didn't work.

Can somebody help me please?

* Log in to the game, and enter your Profile. Then enter the path as described in the package. Please don't forget the backslash in the end.

* Now go to "tool" ->"internet options" -> "secuirity" -> "trusted sites" and add "http://www.kapilands.com" and "http://sxx.kapilands.com (replace the x by your server number - 1 if you play on server 1, 2 if you play on server 2).

Untick the checkmark next to "require server verification for all sites", save your changes, close and open your browser, then log back into the game.

I hope this should do the trick!
