1. the game (i dont actually know) is probably financed by the coin sales.
2. ergo, the tops companies who get up there fast actually make the game, not destroy it.
3. but in the long run, its your stick to it and executive ability that determine how much you win (and if you really want to work that hard)
4. but go ahead, be upset that some rich person has got the jump on you early development - then take three deep breaths - and go to work.
5. but do it in a nice way, cause who wants to hear all day; so-an-so is suuuch a cheater, when all they have done is to put a bit more into developing their game?

8)

eek, i didnt actually say that, did i?

Well, if the advanced developed companies can attack yours and grab your goods, then it would be a problem, otherwise, it is not.

exactly, this is the forst game, where the paying players have an advantage but it doesn't affect the non-paying ones

I actually did buy and sell a few coins, but I sold them to other players cause they pay more for it. Didn't cost me that much at all but I think it was worth the investment. So now that Ive said this some of you might be angry at me and call me a cheater. With that said, here are my opinions on the matter:

Kapilands is a very slow game in the beginning. Other webgames often provide a faster server where time moves more quickly thus decreasing buildtimes etc. Kapilands doesn't have that. I for one didn't want to start producing power for 2 months like everyone else and therefore spent some real money so I could jump ahead. Time is still very slow and everything still takes quite a while to do. Time is the enemy in the game and I can't say Im that far ahead. I was however able to buy a few more facilities thus giving the effect like time went faster for me. Kapilands really needs more companies that are further ahead to make use of all the power and water produced by newbies. Me paying to get ahead actually has a secondary effect of supporting other new players as I now need power, water and other basic wares.

One might still say its too unfair and that it ruins the game. This might be true for many other webgames like the very popular Ogame. The difference is I can't destroy your company with my increased assets. In other games I might have a giant fleet or army and kill you. Thats no fun at all. Like I said, in Kapilands me beeing bigger than I should be doesn't mean I will destroy the other players and ruin it for them, it means I will need them more than ever and actually help them.

One other important factor is that the selling of coins is a one time deal. I get some moeny... good for me. Many others again are afraid that the consequences that may have appeared in other games will happen here. The difference is that most other games give you a percentage increase when you pay money. For example 15% more effective research. This would totally unbalance the game. But that is not the case here.

Flame away, maybe Im totally wrong in what Im saying. I know the discussion has been going on in the german forums but the international players might want to get a part of the pros and con in english.

I spent about seven bucks on the game and then ended up resetting anyway.

Sure, I bought about 3.5 million kapidollars with the coins, but i had no idea how to effectively manage everything and production was going down.

I've resetted several times before that because the game is so slow to begin with, and producing power got boring so I switched into a different industry which is doing quite well.

I still want to reset. But I think in the end, if I don't, and just stick with it, i'll be growing quite large after awhile. I know if I never resetted in the beginning I'd be near where I was when i boguht kapidollars.

It's not about them wasting their money,

Its about them getting unfair advantage in the game when they do nothing and while we try our best to grow properly in game. THey can simply grow big and be happy...

This completely DESTROYS the game...Everybody doesnot have an equal chance

I invested in coins to jump-start my company, I fully recommend this to everyone, and buy a premium membership too. As far as I know, there is no restriction on you, and you can buy as many coins as you like, so there is no unfair advantage. This is entirely up to you, and if you think it's a waste of money, you don't have to buy coins.

One thing to remember is, this is a game, not real life. We are not making real money here, and I am not getting some monetary reward while you are not. Now I suppose, if Nasenprinz wanted to, he could have developed a game where we all wait for you to catch up, and we can't make more money than you, or build and expand faster than you, and everything would seem "fair" to you in the game, but it wouldn't be much fun for the rest of us.
