If the American population believe that they have changed the English language for the better why do you not call it American? Give an example of how the the Americans have improved the language for the better. The real difference between American English and British English is that American English is a melting pot while British English stands alone. Here in America we use English, Spanish, French, German, etc. all mixed together. (We don't have an offical language by the way.) Our version of English is always changing as new people, from other countries, enter the United States.
Think back to when the United States was just being colonized. England, Spain and France where all there. Our country has always been a country of many languages which have become mixed over time. (Evolution in its glory.)
For those who think Americans are stupid because they "changed" English think again. We are smart because we changed English into a language where people from many nations can figure out what we are saying even without knowing English.

We do you think we changed the language for worse? The UK and US are two very different countries. Spain and Mexico speak Spanish however are different, too.

Yes I do think you have changed English for the worse, your spelling is abominable and the fact is that you are trying to impose your spelling onto us, poor proper English speakers. Like it took me ages to switch all my games' spelling to proper spelling and the fact is that commas in "American" are non-existent, as well as the fact that Americans think that we ( the proper English speakers) are backawrd and that we dodnt speak english properly when it is our language. American people do not call their language "English American" but are that naive that they still call it English.

English is our language, aswell. Just has Spanish is the language of Mexico. Yet, both Mexico and the United States versions of the language differ a great deal from their former parent country's languages.
Both American English and British English are called English. It has nothing to do with the UK or US it is how the world views the language. It is not our problem nor your problem.
American English differs greatly in America itself almost as much as it does from British English. The East coast have their version of American English, the South have their version, the Mid-West have their version and the West coast have theirs, aswell. Example: The word Soda-Pop is called: Pop, Soda, Cola, Coke(even when talking about Pepsi) and Soda-Pop depending on where you live in America.
In requards to spelling, we spell our English currectly. Just as people who speak British English spell their English currectly. Sure, there are plenty of people with bad spelling but every country in the world has those people around.
In requards to this forum, this is an international forum where both American English and British English are acceptable. If you have a problem then I advise you to stick to British games and forums. Otherwise, become like the rest of us, learn to deal and work around with the differences.
As to people who think English came from Uk, learn your history. The English language came from west Germany.

I think American English looks a lot more like common used English then the thing people talk in English cities.
