How Advertisement Points Affect the time taken to sell?
Moderator: moderators
I noticed the opposite effect of advertising added to some stores of mine. It is not a system, but it happens rather often recently. Sometimes it INCREASE a selling time TWICE! Supply\Demand rate (in the bottom of the store board) stay the same. I can not understand why so. it is getting annoying since i pay much amounts for that ads and when it comes to jewellery store for example really i feel very disappointed. May be i am doing smth wrong?
You haven't assumed that getting full ads let's you double the price just because it doubles the selling time i hope? Selling time increases expotentionally(Some word like that?
) And that means it curves up slowly then shoots up.
x axis= selling price
y axis= time taken to sell
All ads do is shift that line so that it increases at a slower rate, but at double normal price it still will shoot up HIGH!

May be. I sell golden necklases Q2 by 5000-5500. I can agree that the price is not low but i need this price - if i sell less expensive the selling time will be faster and my production is still low to produce enough. This price + selling time satisfies me and i dont want change it for lower.Ronintje wrote:Or she just used the ads at a point where sales were crappy so despite using more ads the sales time still rises.
These things just happen in jewelry business.
Also in ice cream shop. The price there is rather low - 15c. And selling time also rises up when placing ads sometimes. This is really unfair:).
The stats change depending on the country the shop is in and when you put them up for sale.
Say you put up 100 Q2 gold neckalces today at 5500 each and the selling time is 24hours.
In 23 hours and 59 minutes time there will only be one minute left till all are sold, despite any changes to the stats in that 23hours and 59minutes.
When the final thing is sold you then open your shop and add 10,000 ad points. But little to your knowledge the price rapidly dropped overnight as lots of other people sold higher quality golden necklances for cheaper.
Therefore in this case to get a 24hours selling price you may need to sell at 4,000 caps each, 1,500 cheaper than the previous day despite the ad points.
Also these changes occur most dramatically in the jewelry industry- including golden necklaces.

I'm not sure how this reply is related to my answer.Mona wrote:May be. I sell golden necklases Q2 by 5000-5500. The price you need to make a profit is not related to the thing i wrote, nor is it related to your claim of sale time increasing after adding more ads.
Adverts make the sale time go down, no matter what price you use.
That is a fact.
So if you think adding more adverts makes the sale time go up you obviously didn't use the right parameters in your research.
To find out:
Put max amount up for sale at price X and check the time.
Then clear store, add ads and put up max amount at price X again.
Then you will see the time has decreased.
Selling time will change daily so if you check it now and then compare to what it sold several days ago your result will be corrupted by the daily changes.
