What is a good growth rate?

Lets say I have a good amount of money, a nice contest comes up and I earn money off it.
Now, the contest is over, and my buildings are annoying me because now I have no use for them. Do you think it'd be sensible to demolish them for whatever price, or just keep going even if I can get a little profit out of it?

someone I know who does not play here anymore, was a contest player. He used to buy 60 contestbuildings each contest, then produce and sell his products, and after the contest he sold all the buildings back to the system and built new buildings for the next contest.
He sometimes expanded them a little but no longer then around 24 hours, depending on how long the contest lasted ofcourse.
He made a lot of money.
It is a risky business when you are new, but when people start to know you it gets easier.
You have to lobby around a lot though, advertise, write messages and so on, but most of all, be reliable.
Just an idea.

You should get to around 3B Fixed Assets in a year.nikhilm92 wrote:what should I aim for in my growth percentage?
It was Liandri Mining Corp.nikhilm92 wrote:Wow, did he get to the "BILLIONAIRE" stage? I just had a rush of respect for whoever the player was.
Just so you know, I am deciding to take the minimal-demolition, stable company stance on this.
Realm 2.
in the end he went into furnitures, after a while expanded all his buildings and sold them and all his researches in auction.
He ended tycoon level.
Research in business is not that profitable:
1. You could make a hell load more money using the earlier proposed strategy of selling contest products and CCs (if you choose to participate).
2. Everytime you sell research, you lose it, so you have to spend more time researching the technology again.
This could be an added bonus if you used it alongside your real business.
And finally, contest products are generally not extremely high quality, it'd take less than a day, generally, to research till the necessary amount. So, why would anyone else wait for you to do it and pay the same amount (assuming you want profit), rather than do it themselves.
You could argue that a player who has 60/100 buildings and cant build anymore would buy it from you. But if I build a 250,000 caps worth of a building, and use it for the contest, I would certainly earn a lot more money and get my return on investment. In that case, I wouldn't mind blowing down a couple of buildings to earn more money than I generally would, would I?
It is an idea alright, but it's not as profitable as you would want it to be.

Low-Q-research is a nice little extra income... I do it now and then when my RCs are supposed to work short time so I can start a longer research which is not supposed to be finished in the middle of the night - especially when you are not that huge a few extra millions are welcome. Players just starting a certain field appreciate to find a certain not too expensive research on the market which saves them time or even to build a RC at the first stages...
I know some players make a fortune ONLY on contest products. They expand all facs which are not needed for the current contest und supply themselves with most raw materials. They do not participate (maybe just the top100) but sell their goods, and make their living (virtually) with it...
