What is quality and research centers good for?

Hello. I'm new to this game and i dont understand these three things:

1. What is quality good for?

2. What does research centers do?

3. Is there a way to speed up the expanding of buildings?

I also want to take a loan on 1 million caps on world 2, I pay back with 30 % rent.

1. Higher quality can in the end products make more profit than lower quality products

2. Reaserch higher qualities

3. Nope

And loans are against the rules

In the end most items go to be sold in stores and the higher the Quality the more likely it will be boguht by the NPC's and for a higher price.

Its like in real life being given the choice between a 12inch black and white tv and a 42 inch flat screen plasma tv XD

Researching higher quality occurs in the research centres, this can be used to make your prodcuts you make a higher quality or to make researches to sell on to other players who may want to use them.

You cannot speed up the expansion of buildings in any way. If you want a big buidling that you dont already own you can try buying from another player, who may want to sell it but this will almost always cost more than what it took to make the building. Remember though building new buildings is more efficient than expanding ones... eg 2x20m2 power plants make MORE than 1x40m2 power plant.

Finally like agent said all loans are against rules, no matter what.

but will in some cases cost you less if you consider what money you can make with that building in the time it would take to expand it.
