Is there a lag before Q research takes effect?

I've done some Q research, but the production building doesn't reflect the new Q level. Is there a lag before the game updates my research status?

You need to visit your production building and set the "quality level".
I would suggest you to set it to Q127 so you can always produce the highest quality that your research allows you.
