Compatibilty on PS3 browser

Post by Guest » 15.10.2011, 20:46

Hey guys.
After having some PC issues about a year ago, I could no longer come here. I recently snatched up a PS3 and am using it for browsing etc. online.

I've returned to kapilands to find that none of my buildings are showing up, and when my finances alter, as displayed on the left of most pages, I have to refresh EVERY page for it to update.

I know that the PS3 browser is more outdated than my grandmother, but this is the only browser game that triggers the issue.
I'm just wondering if anyone can expand on my knowledge? I'd hate to have to miss out on kapilands for another year.
Even a forced refresh doesn't affect it... It works for everything but the building list.

Unfortunately every browser handles html and javascript differently, and minor errors in a page which wouldn't cause a parse error in say, Chrome or Safari can cause major errors in IE or Mozilla (especially the older versions.)

The PS3 browser is a prime example of a browser full of compatibility errors, simply because it can't handle the slight differences in code which developers tend to form. It's not Sony's fault, as if Kapilands was fully W3C compliant, it wouldn't be an issue.

This should really be placed in bugs, but I doubt that the Upjers team would be willing to do such a major game re-haul for such a small amount of players, when they refuse to do small updates for the community as a whole.

Sorry for the bad new,
regards,
Unity.

Hi Hedgedhogst,

our games are optimized for being played on being played on PCs; that means, that problems can indeed occur if you are playing from different platforms, other than a PC or or Mac, such as an Android Phone or, in your case a PlayStation.

This might change in the future, but I can indeed not promise anything, so best would be to keep playing via your PC, and you shouldn't have any problems.

Best regards,
