hi all
is there any way to easily work out what is the minimum advisable quality to sell in shops ?
e.g. if i wanted to sell cabrio's in germany, i'd need to research to produce at what quality ?
hope this makes sence.
thanks for your help

Hey again, my 3rd attempt at replying to this =) Keeps voiding the session for no apparent reason lol
Ok, from my perspective your going about this the wrong way. First a bit of background =^)
Obviously the higher the Q the higher the selling price so retailers offer a bonus per Q. 100Q in the case of gold necks, then they tack a premium onto that, a further 250 in my case. That means that the higher the Q the better the profit since I can increase profit whilst keeping in the 'sweet spot' of optimal profit.
I retail my Q15 (min Q I produce) necks for 14k following my own Q increase price I would lose money at Q0. Instead when I get the odd consignment of Q0 I sell for 12k, I still make a profit but I lose the optimal profit I worked so hard for.
So can I hope I showed you can sell Q0 for a decent profit but by rule of thumb its always better to get the best Q possible. As for cabs in particular you will have to experiment or ask another player in the industry as to their mark up.

Having an actual figure would be difficult, since so many conditions are included.
If you want the advice for a specific product, I'd recommend looking at the current averages in the stats page. If I'm not mistaken, this shows the average quality and average price of all sales that day, of the specific good.
I know you're going to say you've played this for 3 years, and that you know all about that stats page, but this would be the closest to an accurate answer that I could give.
You know it depends on the size of your retail, the ads in your retail, the average quality and the average price, and the town/city that your retail is in.
That is the closest thing to a guide, I believe. Anyone feel free to poke me in the eye if I'm totally off-track.

Nah im just kidding but the avg wont be that much of a help in this case since the car avg is almost perpetually maxed out and the avg Q wont affect you all the much unless it shifts by 10 or more.
If you have a store up and running I would use my spreadsheet to figgure out the best price for your items and as long as its a profitable number just go with that. Once you get a range of Qs going work out the best price for those and you can work out the best going price from that.

with cabrios a lot depends on Marxer. He is the biigest seller and highest quality, can be similar to jewellery to times, fill the store when Marxer isn't selling as he really decreases your profit margin. Though just read it was only an example.
I have been trying for a while now to crack the store time price calculation and I beleive taht it is a quadratic increase in price fore each Q, what I mean is
stat q 5
q3 gas sells at x-4
q4 gas sells at X-2
q5 gas sells at X
q6 gas sells at X+2
q7 gas sells at X+4
q8 gas sells at X+8
Hope it helps

I havn't done too much research into quality, but i do know some things.
First, what quality is worth is heavily effected by the average quality.
Second, lower qualities are worth much more to the price of a product. For wardrobes, q0 --> q1 is worth 200+ retailing. q15 --> q16 is worth about 50 (at least on r2). Since the average quality on r2 germany is about 18, we can assume that the lower you are, the more difference it makes as you approach the average.
As far as going above the average, so far as i can tell the effect diminishes quickly. Quality's effect on price may or may not have to do with the average, it could be a scale where lower quality is worth much more than higher quality in terms of store price (or sale time). I think this is the case, because it doesn't seem to change around the average any different than a few points above and below the average.
Just some of my guesses and observations.
