So ... going by your suggestions, I've been building multiple buildings as money rolls in - plantations. Is this a good idea or bad investment? I got a couple of steady buyers so I thought making more plantations seemed the best way atm. Not sure if this type of business is sustainable though?

At what point should I stop making plantations and start concentrating on a specific industry? Atm I'm quite enjoying the plantations and supplying people. I guess ice cream industry won't make me rich anyway? Besides the Food RC is expensive. Thoughts and suggestions please?
I produce wood myself, and I'm not a small company :)
wood is profitable, and evry time your wood's quality grows, so it your profit.
so you can stay with producing wood :)

I think Dopamin is the one offering good plantation crop prices for beginners. You should check the forum market place, if you haven't already.

My "suggestion" to when to do things: When you feel like it. When you feel you want to try something new and have the money for it. The worst that can happen is that you have to reset your business (account) and start over. Been there, done that (twice, withing the first 2 weeks).

don't see the point in reseting an account...
It's more interesting to get out of the 'problem' or whatever reason you want to restart :)
you can always sell the buildings if you need money.

Thanks everyone! These are very helpful tips indeed! I actually reset the account already soon after tutorial. I built a Toy Factory as my first building I think after tutorial and couldn't do anything from there as I didn't have the funds. lol

Btw, if I wanna produce something do I also need to build the RC for it? So like in my example above, if I have a toy factory does it mean I cannot produce any toys if I don't do the Chemical RC?

Short answer: You can produce without a research but to reach higher qualities you need either a RC (in order to research) or high quality-"ingredients"... or both. :D

Plantations is very good choise to start. If you play in Realm2, make cotton. Q0 is ok. You need just plantations in green area, not need Research at start. Don't bother to make seeds and water, just buy from market. Cotton is on HUGE demand in realm2, because there is several growing leather jackets producers, ex. NYK. , Celtne and others. Build 50 plantations, make 100 mil, evaluate the situation and then choose a path.

Thanks I've got a few plantations now. They seem the easiest to build and the most profitable for me atm. Am slowly expanding to other buildings just for the fun of it. Maybe I'll earn slower but this way it gives me more variety. :)

One thing though that I probably shouldn't be thinking yet if at all, is going into retail right? Seems that sort of business is only profitable when you really have high Q's already. Am thinking for a small company like mine, production is the way to go.

As I've seen til now it can be profitable if you keep a low profile until you raise your Q. Meaning that you need one small factory and one store going, so that you produce small quantities and you can sell in the store at high prices, because even if it takes forever to sell your production queue won't match the time you need to produce goods.
Gaining a steady income selling Q0 leather jackets @ 1350 each in the store, at the moment.

EDIT: it's not worth it anyway, just doing it for fun, you should stick in the plantation business right now.
