Contest Sales Strategy Query
If you weren't score hungry, what path would you take during a contest that centers on the item you specialize in?
Profits from the commodities you sell to contestants vs. the profit of a gold medal alone (plus the cost of producing the contest item).
Which is better from a financial point of view?
Clarification!
The reason I am asking, is that during this contest, I could have earned 7th place (with the current contest standing as I wrote this). Instead, I chose to sell the glass Q2 (realm 2), and made myself a billionaire. Since I am not concerned with score, did I choose wisely? Or could I have made more with the certificates as a 7th place winner?
Thanks

Selling the cp is the best.Opus wrote: Which is better from a financial point of view?
I once had 40M chemicals at R1 and there was a Q0 chems contest.
I sold most of them and ended up earning many B cash.
Back then the medals weren't worth the 20B i made from selling the chems.
Recently i produced 12.5M CP on a butcher contest and got the gold medal.
The market value was at least 3000 ea, but i wanted around 4000 ea which people didn't offer

Had i sold at 3000 i would have had 37B cash.
Now in short, 1 gold medal should be worth around 15B back then.
1 gold is 30x CC, 1 CC was 500M back then.
So basicly i should have been able to sell the Gold medal at 15B and i should have been able to sell the CP at 35B easily.
So in short the GM cost me 20B.
I however couldn't find anybody willing to pay the 50B i demanded and ended up winning the contest which is nice to

Next time i'll try selling it again tho and who knows what happens
