When does a new contest start?

as soon as one ends does the next start or do they wait a few days before staring the nest one? I think that they should give a riddle about what item the next contest will about just so that some people can try to figure it out.

Contests end on Fridays and start on Sundays. (Usually, contests run for almost 2 weeks.)
