In my opinions...
i think better for newbie start with :-

1# money in hand:- 680-685K
2# built Power Plant in Green Area

example:-
money in hand:- 685K
built power plant costs 142500 Caps
money left :- 542500 Caps

Remember don't buy anymore buildings

3#Start expanding your building up to 100 m2 then wait
4#When you have 100 m2,hire 10 peoples [[[IMPORTANT]]]
5#Start producing products

example:-
-productt: 1000000 units of power
-production time: [approx- 20-22 hours], then wait for the next day
-production cost: 10K Caps
6#After you have 1 million units of power, start selling [[[REMEMBER]]] don't sell at the high price..

example:-
-product: 1000000 units of power
-price: 0.07-0.05/each
-income: 70-50K
-net income: [approx]55-35K

Better if you can find daily competitors/consumers
Good Luck and wish you luck

You can try to make a start with power (I think other ways are more profitable), but this way is very simple. The main thing I suggest changing is don't upgrade too early.

Compare your cost for upgrading to buying a new building. So find out how many caps and materials it costs to upgrade your power plant by 20 m2. Then go to the market and find out how much you could sell these materials for on the market. Then find out how many caps and materials it costs to build a new 20m2 building. You will almost always find it is cheaper to build a new building than expand your current one.

So most players agree, that it is better to build a lot of buildings before you start expanding (you eventually run into the limit of 60 or 100 buildings and have to expand). So here's my revision to your approach. If you want to make money off of just power as a start:
-buy 4 power plants in green and get the second employee for each.
-make as much power as you can and sell it every day (by contract is best, but on the market if you can't find a buyer).
-Every time you have enough money for another power plant, buy it (just keeping a few thousand caps in reserve for production costs).

Not only is this cheaper than a single 100m2 building, you will be getting your money earlier because you will have 8 employees producing power from the very beginning instead of starting with 2 and waiting for days or weeks to expand to that size. Don't forget this is just a start, and eventually, you will probably want to branch out into other businesses.

Note, unless you are going heavy into powerproduction, don't build more than 5-6 powerplants as they will suport almost any production-buildings you might choose later.

So by limiting to 5-6 plants you have plenty room for braching out.

That's a good point. You could easily start with 5 and then branch out because you will eventually need the power.

I started with the oil and gas business and also produce plastic and steel. I now have 30 buildings and just got my 5th power plant and it is just enough for all my needs.
