Long term contract (not automatic)

Post by Guest » 21.02.2007, 15:13

Many people mentioned daily supply or demand in posts, but when will the "daily" terminate? no one knows!

The problem is that , the price of goods fluctuates every days or weeks, if your partners have no incentive to keep the promises, what shall we do?

Depending on the Reputation or Moral? It is not reliable, and also not right, because sometimes you need correct your mistake of signing a wrong contract, it is nothing relate to the Moral. When you look around the real financial world, breaking contract could be found everywhere, the key point here is that, the contract breaker should suffer a reasonal lost, let us say "compensation"

So I suggest a long term contract with a proper compensation, it could be not long, just 3 days, 1 week, or half month as you will. Every offer and confirmation of the goods each day should be done in a certain time limitation per day.

For example, the deadline per day could be 12:00 at noon, the buyer's is 24 hours later. You don't have to worry about if you have the time to login, because the seller can offer at any time before the deadline, and the buyer have time to accept it any time in 24 hours after the deadline, further, the seller can offer the next deal just after 12:00 at noon and wait for another confirmation, so everyone only have to login once every 24 hours, it is not much.

What is the difference with the situation now? It is you can break it! The compensation could be 15% of the "total" value of the contract (Total value here means nomatter you are at which step of the contract, I think it is nice, because the later you wanna break, the more lost you will suffer. ). Any side can consider the cost and the benefit before they make decision.

If the long term contract system starts, the kapiland could much more like the real industry world, which is we are looking for in the game, isn't it?

Thanks for reading ^^

I like the idea and would like to expand:

The idea that i have to improve this upon the for-mentioned is to have more involvement in contracts, such as terms and conditions.

Now that there is not such a handling of contracts, there yet are lots of argues on them: poeple, who do not stick to the conditions agreed upon etc.

In serious cases the admins have to check that. So if we now implement such a detailled work on contracts (which are only a part of the game) I am quite sure that it would become a full-time job to take care for this.

The points you mention, e.g. when to accept a contract, who has to pay the forwarding charges, are points which are negiotiated prior to the trade itself. If the parties want to have that. It's up to them whether they want to negotiate on such details or whether they simply want to trade in a quick way.

If one of the parties does not stick to the agreed specifications, the other party has the possibility to deny the contract. And I think that is sufficient. Just my personal opinion on that ;-)

1st, I don't think it will become a full time job here, I have mentioned that, only 1 time login every 24 hours, anytime, I don't think it will be a problem. And even if you have some emergency occasionally, paying a compesation to your partner is not bad, after all you have broken your promise and let your partner suffer some cost, right? ^^

2rd, Why people choose contract trade? Because it is cheaper since you don't have to pay 10% charge. It is indeed a wise strategy to trade by contracts. What I wanna do is to insure both side right in the contract, anyone broke it should charge, if the contract was going smoothly, no one have to pay the "compensation".

I did not mean the "work" of the users... with full time job I meant the time of the admins who would be responsible for the argues going on and for deciding whether a compensation has to be paid or not... the more details you have, the more argues there are..

Yeah, I have to admit that, more wonderful the game, the more work the admins need to face ; )

In fact, what I mentioned and hoped is a techniqu work of the game system, I mean the system deal with the contract, however, I don't know wether it is possible or not.

If all the contracts controlled detailly by men, it is impossible ^^
