Delete NPCs ?

Maybe update or delete NPC in order to regulate the market.
Seems to be a good idea ???

Well, unfortunately it isn't. ;)
Let's take the steel-NPC.
Already now there is not enough steel beside the NPC for all of the expansions and the productions. Already now people are complaining about high steel prices. Already now especially beginners have problems to finance their expansion.

And what would happen if you change something in the NPC-system? ^^

if no NPC, prices would increase, yeah, but more people 'll produce steel and else :)

I think you are the 734th person who suggested removing the NPC. I am sure the mods will do it this time...

I only say it once about every 10 threads, but I guess it's about time again.

Were it up to me, I would simply reduce the arbitrary steel requirement for expansion. Instead of taking 50 steel per m to expand, it would take 25 steel.

This would halve the demand on steel, dropping the price and making the NPC a non-issue.

NPC steel prices

Post by Guest » 07.07.2007, 21:31

I produce steel and I think it is a good idea to keep the NPC and the price where its at. If you eliminate the NPC and its price, there will be more steel price gouging. I produce a higher quality steel than 0 and sell it in private contracts for less than the NPC price and I can still make a profit of 100 per unit. When you can produce q0 steel for less than 20, there is no need to price it above 135. The concept of a NPC guaranteeing the price to be lower helps the newer companies buy steel at reasonable prices and allows them to grow easier. Companies with higher positive cash flows can afford higher prices, companies who are newer cannot afford higher prices. Eliminating the NPC guaranteed price of 135 for q0 steel would hurt the newer companies by forcing them to pay higher prices which they would be hard pressed to afford.

 jesus another one that produces steel for less than 20 and makes 100+ profit.
anyway the only reason i can find for the NPC being there is the absurd amount of steel that takes to expand when you need 6.5k steel to expand 100m^2 the only place you can find it is that accursed NPC, no amount of ppl could supply the needs of everione in the server.
Besides steel producers that call themself Producers invest in quality, and unfortunatly the demand for quality steel is still very low.

All this delete NPC talk is over the insane happening ont he steel market. How does 145c steel sell when teh NPC is 135?!

Its crazy!
cashmoneybrothers has posted a fax trying to advice new players to take advantage of the NPC and not buy overpriced steel, that his money being used to try and fix this problem, cant something else be done?
