Next Contest

how about the next contest be something to do with the toy industry?
I've noticed that it is the least used area in the game so a contest in that area would stimulate growth for that industry.

No, make it something cheap. Its more of a contest then

It should be something cheap to make. I'd suggest some beverages like kapi cola, bottled cocoa, orange juice or food like bread, biscuits, sausages, sugar.
The are quite cheap and wouldn't affect the entire market

I think most people would agree with us that having cheap products for the next contest, is the best option.

make it power!! i'm a power producer so ill make a whole bunch of money :!:

look i'll show you :!:
25million power a day:
cost: 0.01 times 25million= 250,000
Profit: selling to contest for 2 caps, 25million times 2= 50million

- 250,000, i'll be making $49,750,000 a day!

You can easily buy power from NPC for 0,27. So making power contest would be useless.....The same with wood Q0, stone, water and steel Q0, seeds Q0....

Beverages would be fine, or some drugstore products:)

The contest products should be things that usualy cost 2-20c since the contest company buys them for 2c. The return is quite high so the prices can go up as well. With apples the prices kept going up untill the end of the contest. With the TVs it was oposite. They started high and then went down.

Actually I kind of like the televisons contest. Now I do think the Contest company should pay more than 2 caps for them (paying the same for lemons as for televisions is a little wierd). But I don't think it's less of a contest with an expensive item than with a cheap one. The contest leaders end up buying 100,000 TVs instead of 5,000,000 apples. But if they're slower to produce and more expensive, the cash invested turns out to be about the same.

Additionally, you get the "middle goods effect" from bigger products. E-Components and to a lesser extent Silicon have both gone up in price here, as have plastic and glass. This makes it possible for more people to get in on the contest movement in different ways.

And then also I think we're continuing to see a change that has been occurring for weeks now, where contest price is getting closer and closer to regular price. This is probably because more and more people are getting into the habit of selling contest goods and switching every two weeks. And supply and demand is taking effect.

That said, I too would like to see Toys or Foods done next, since those little industries don't get a lot of love.

I haven't been the best tracker of it, but actually what I think we see is a "U" shape on most contest goods. They start high on the Sunday it's announced, then the price drops slowly until about Monday of the following week. Then it rises through the last week as new buyers assess the situation and decide to make a run at the contest.
