In real life you can't get eggs without chickens and you can't get milk without a cow. So I think we need to make the eggs be produced with chickens and milk produced with cows.

No, but you can get eggs and milk without using up the animal. I figure it's implied that the cattle-breeding plants have chickens and cows (and sheep for wool) involved. But they don't break them out as a step, because they aren't used up. Which also explains why eggs, milk, and wool are cheaper than chickens, cattle, and lambs.
