refresh of cash amount

Post by Guest » 10.04.2007, 09:39

I notice than the refreshing of the webpage doesn't refresh the score of cash on the left pannele.

you have to actually open each and every shop pannel to get the updated amount of cash.

in the same line, the amount of products to sell doesn't update neither. time is indeed updated but it show "800 stuff" til the last second. again it set the correct amount chen actually open the shop pannel.

can you fix this ?

It's actually intended by the devs. Most likely it's an issue of server load. If all the items were constantly updated, it would place a massive load on the server, so instead, shops are updated when you visit them.

Sucks, but that's the way it's probably going to stay.

it's quite stupid.

to avoid 1 update, I must do 7 updates. and It will be worse when i'll get other buildings. it DO place a massive load on the server.

I rather like it this way - it's like my stores are an ATM where I'm hiding cash for when I need it. Most of the time I can just wait until I have to restock the store anyway, so it's no big deal. Other times, if it's tight I can pop in and grab some cash for whatever I need.

No. to avoid the server from updating every second, YOU have to to 7 updates

there was no question of a CONSTANT update. who need this ?

what i would like to see is all numbers ACCURATE when I update a page by sending order of sell/production/research every two or three hours.

do you imagine a forum that point out new messages only if you enter in the very sub-thread where this hidden message is ? nobody would find this practical. and there would be strong suspicion upon the skills of programers.

What the hell are you talking about, then?

That the shops update when you go to the sale page?

Its not that different from production as it is. The number produced and the time until it's complete.

I don't see how your suggestion would change anything becauser you'd still need to go to the shop to put in new product.

It's because of the stupid internet explorer everybody uses. I don't have this problem with my safari. When I buy something i only have to click refresh en my shop is updated so it's 1 update against 1 automaticly update. So no problem for me.

i'm on firefox. IE is not the culprit, this time.

I just log out and then log in to fix that. I have the same problems with FireFox and Internet explorer.

I cannot understand what IE, Firefox or any other browser has to do with this.

As far as I understand the proposal, you want that e.g you put 2,000 gas into your station.... let it run, and items will automatically be sold (so if you refresh, you automatically have only 1,800 left after some time in the shop.. and do not have to get into the shop) Right?

no

right now, if I put 1000 gas and wait 1 hour or 2, it still show 1000 gas to sell and unchanged cash.

instead, when I put 800 oranges in a grocery 1 hour later , I would like to see that 653 gas remain and I earn 4896

So you want it to update in real time.

Which is what it'd have to do.
