Current Average Market Price.
While something I myself dont need, too many people are either unaware of value, or have no concern over what they are buying.
Today is my first day, but notable examples of things I have bought include
10 Car Bodies for 100 each
A LOT of Stone for .20 each
Its getting to the point that im afraid of being banned for taking advantage of other peoples stupidity, on grounds of cheating.
Or is this how the game always is?
------------
(The suggestion would have been helpful )
Im suggesting an average value of all the items currently being sold, of that time, on the market. One per entry, so 15 apples at 10 and 23 apples at 20 comes to an average of 15, because of the median amount between 20 and 10, not 23 apples counting for more.
This could take some doing to code, though.

Instead of making a new topic, ill add to my own again:
Another suggestion would be a "Cancel Sale" button, for the market.
The user loses the shipping fee to get the goods there but gets their goods back to their inventory for use or sale.
Im seeing a lot of sales that will never be closed, either because the goods were stupidly high-priced, or because supply has now pushed the prices down.
My suggestions are as follows:
A button to get back goods to the warehouse, And,
A button to lower the price of a good currently at the market. Price cannot be raised.
( Blame previous edits content on fatigue. )

The forwarding charges have to be paid and you do not get them back in case you buy your own products back from the market. And I think, this is an important issue: if you do not have to think about the costs already invested into the sale of a product, you can change your price every second you want to. That could end up in a big chaos on the market. The forwarding charges actually are costs you have to take into account...
An average sales price for goods would make it very difficult in times of running contests, for example: during that time prices increase and can fall within one hour. It would be a kind of a lottery to get these average prices. From my experience I know, that there are even "internal" contests of trade groups, so that an external player is not able to understand the reason for an drastical increase of stone prices (for expample). There are so many reasons why a price can in- or decrease within a very short period of time (sometimes somebody just thinks it's funny to buy, lets say, all apples from the market, which cost less than 15 caps...)
Wishing everybody a nice Wednesday,
Tycoon

I agree with Seringol...something should be done to prevent odd prices...
I just bought 2500 steel for 1cap each...and a couple minutes later there were 3000 steel 0,5c each...etc... :S
Probably most of these situations happen when a begginer checks his warehouse and sees large amounts of goods.
the average price isn't such a bad idea...i think
Just use a 'yesterday's price average' even if it's not very accurate, it should prevent extreme low prices

I guess varying prices can also be due to the number of supplies available and the demand for the product.
I used to sell Power for .16 each, but due to a lot of production of power recently, I have to sell it for .12 each or not get any sales at all.
Oil has got to be one of the most fluctuating prices as it is very time-consuming to produce them. There are times when the supplies are a lot, the competition for prices went as low as 25...and I was selling at 35...
So instead of competing, I let a few hours pass by and when there's no more supplies, I get to sell mine for a higher price again, considering that oil is one of the most demanded product out of all I produce currently that people buy them even at a higher cost.

I know what you mean aluc, but whats the lowest cost possible to produce a unit of oil? 11/12 caps maybe...if you produce also the power that you use.
when I say odd price I mean something like selling oil at 1cap...

But the most common situation is seeing stones, wood and steel being sold at 1...0.5 caps.
Probably this happens when someone starts the game and checks his warehouse: large amounts of stone, wood and steel
so he doesn't have any idea of the prices, probably doesn't even know how to check the regular prices in the market...So he just starts selling these goods for a price that he thinks that is reasonable...that may be 1cap for 1steel or 5000caps for 1steel. That's why I'm saying that there should be some 'average selling price' information.

Good point Aluc
Something has to been for Oil & Power prices!
They are going to crash as much as 15$ a litre I feel!
When I joined the game power was priced at 0.22 to 0.27!
Today's prices are 0.11!
If this keeps coming down how can we grow or make profit?

lol thats not what it is.
its people who have more then one account sell their goods cheap on market in order to transfer to their main. you make a new account, sell the goods on market hella cheap, goto your main and buy them fast as you can. the only reason it seems like people sell cheap is either because they had problems between accounts, or they thaught that they have plenty of time and during that time, others come accross the steal and buy them for next to nothing.
its basicly a drop trade gone bad.
another thing you can think of is some people have more then one internet connection in their house, theirfore teh IP addresses do not match, and the game admins and mods have scams left and right yet they don't have a clue whats happening.
the only reason i know this is because i was a game moderator on an online game for almost 6 months, due to server problems the site closed about a year ago lol.

The game admins have lots of measures to also detect such actionsScottyPenatilliIndustries wrote:

So I would not be too sure that such accounts won't be deleted...
@Drvic enterprises: to send a contract with these transfer products would mean that there is a direct trade between the same ips. And that is not allowed in this game.
