The Use of commas and Confirmation

Post by Guest » 22.12.2008, 23:53

it would be a to also put comma in the confirmation part ...after you press buy in a market... (e.g :How many of the offered goods would you like to buy?
Offer: 1873394700 Power (quality: 0) for 0.15

I wouldn't mind a confirmation page after market purchases. I can see a problem with the commas. The area this game was created in is different those most of us who play it. The comma and the period are backwards to how most of the world uses them because of that. Look at your marketplace:
240.340 (XXX) 14 150,00 36.051.000,00 buy

To most of the world it should be:
240,340 (XXX) 14 150.00 36,051,00.00 buy

See?

Having the ability to add a comma would cause major problems depending on which use they gave to the comma.

oh sorry i meant the dot thing.... because there isn't one after you click buy on the market.... it just shows 360000000 powers.... not 360.000.000

I guess you wait untill the developers read it in here and then pray they are willing to get it implemented.

I however doubt it will be done cuz that box is the spot where you order the game engine to make the deal.
The game engine probably doesn't understand the dots and changing that might be to difficult if even possible.
The numbers you see on confirmation are processed numbers which result in the thing you see on your screen but to the game engine those numbers still are without the dots.

Changing that would probably be a lot of work since you need to change the game engine and that might even be impossible to achieve.

The answer to your problems isn't difficult either.
Take your cursor.
Put it 3 numbers from the end.
Push left mouse-button.
Move to the left 3 numbers.
Release left mouse button.

Now you have 3 numbers covered with bleu (which you could copy/cut/delete).
At the left of the bleu area start the millions.
When there are more then 3 numbers at the left those are billions.

Result: you can see how much it is.
And still how many items are sold in 1B numbers??
Only power and water i guess.
I hardly ever seen that many seeds and those usually aren't that expensive either.

Last option is to buy 10M.
You just push 1 and then you count the amount of 0 you push.
7x gets 10M, 8x gets 100M, 6x gets 1M...

To me thats automatic, i just count while pushing and hardly check...

So again, i doubt this will ever be implemented cuz its to much work and i doubt that many see a real problem anyway.
I can't say i know games where they use those dots in order pages.
