SUGGESTIONS for KAPILANDS,come in and join the debate
Hello everyone
I am Gevron, I have played kapilands for 3 years since i started it and i am back into this game now after i stopped playing 5 months ago.
I tried a lot of different business simulation games and I have realized the lack of competitiveness of kapilands compared to them. ( if u want to know the names, igm me)
here are the main suggestions after discussion after the 1st week i posted
***a IRC chat client.*** If kapilands have one that actually works, it can speeden up the process of trading and more agreements can be reached. New players can seek help instantly with other senior players of the game via the chat. As i realized, most new players go bankkrupt or the wrong business direction at the very start of their game. It is essential for them to seek help
Some new suggestions i have thought up of
1--- REVIVE THE NEWSPAPER---- to do this, the newspaper wud need articles from players, players shud write to the newspaper and there shud be a lucky draw prize ( in the form of coins, certain amount of goods etc.) for players who have sent in their articles. The more articles one sends in, the more lucky draw "raffles" he/she wud get
Another element wud be an advertising page for smaller companies to post their offers and buying offers up there
2--- a more complicated CONTEST
well here is what i am talking about
instead of sending in 1 product only..., there shud be 3 contest products on the same contest at the same time
this can add in competition by giving them seperate point ratings
eg.. the contest is oil q1, cotton q2, beef q5
the points are the following for each good sent in
oil=1 point
beef=3 points
cotton=5 points
3---- More MEMBER'S ONLY AREAS
Start 2 new areas which are exclusive only to members
this way, more people would support the game by buying premium accounts
this way, more players from different business fields can participate all at once in one contest
These suggestions are aimed just to raise some debate... hope people will participate
for more quesitons on these, igm me

Re: SUGGESTIONS for KAPILANDS, mods please read
Welcome back, anyway.Gevron Enterprises wrote:[...]I have realized the lack of competitiveness of kapilands compared to them.

That has been passed on a long time ago... and we once had one. That one was from time to time "full" (about 8 to 10 users), but most of the time it was simply dead.Gevron Enterprises wrote:1-- a IRC chat client. Called me rude or whatever. There is only one simple answer: No, this won't come.Gevron Enterprises wrote:2-- a money lending system
although this can result in lots of cheating suspicions, but it can be easily combatted.
the Mods can allow only PLAYERS above level Large scale manufacturer or perhaps Tycoon to lend money out to other players. As these senior players have been playing in kapilands for quite a while, i believe they know what interest rate they charge is reasonable and what is not
Suggested for many times, denied for even more times... always for the same reasons... If you are interested in them, please use the "search-function".

A lack of government?Gevron Enterprises wrote:3-- More NPC intervention
In kapilands, there is a lack of a pjublic sector or government. Apart from the NPC selling steel, power and seeds etc. We certainly need another NPC to run buffer stock schemes

A new NPC for what? Hmm... I don't think that this will come (I think we had this discussion a few weeks ago, too.). But it's Christmas in nearly two weeks.

And by the way: The moderators have no influence on what gets implemented into Kapilands and what does not. Sorry...

The buffer stock schemes and more NPC intervention i mean by this
is a NPC that sets a price range for certain products
lets say for leather
with the market price currently around 400 caps ( i think)
this NPC can set a minimum price ( lets say 200 caps)and a maximum price ( 500 caps)
it will buy up goods when the market price is higher than 500 caps
they will sell goods when the market price is lower than 200 caps
But i am not sure on the practicality on this one, as i do fear that people will abuse this system
i still stick to the IRC clie4nt suggestion, which shud work out best and most practical

YES, i want the news paper back so much, wee need thisGevron Enterprises wrote: 1--- REVIVE THE NEWSPAPER---- to do this, the newspaper wud need articles from players, players shud write to the newspaper and there shud be a lucky draw prize ( in the form of coins, certain amount of goods etc.) for players who have sent in their articles. this would be good, but the older payers who have all their buildings in other areas (like me) we would not be ale to use these new areas.Gevron Enterprises wrote: 3---- More MEMBER'S ONLY AREAS

If there is an NPC like that a lot of people are going to sell their leather for let's say 1billion caps. And it is going to be bought instantly.Gevron Enterprises wrote: it will buy up goods when the market price is higher than 500 caps

You are joking right????Gevron Enterprises wrote:lets say for leather

When price gets above 500 caps, npc buying it won't lower the price but only boost it!!!!!
Same the other way round...
When NPC starts selling when price gets below 200 caps its like having the steel npc and the price won't ever get above 200 caps ever.
The entire idea s*cks anyway.
When people want to pay more then 500, let them.
When people want to sell below 200, let them.
The whole idea should be to make the right decisions which allow you to make a good profit.
When you need leather and there isn't any you either pay more or you start producing it yourself.
If anything should be changed it should be REMOVING npc caps instead of installing more of them for even more products.
To get back to the current 135c cap on steel Q0, that already spoils the entire Steel business cuz nobody can produce Q0 steel with the current market price of iron ore, coal, chemicals and power for less then 135c.
5x coal (15) = 75
2x iron (15) = 30
0.5x chem (30) = 15
200x power (0.20) = 40
Thats already 160c total without regarding production cost and building cost!!!!!!
This NPC spoils business like this.
Getting more of it would spoil even more business.
Also it has been written before, there won't be any adaption to npc cuz it would hurt certain players to much either cuz older members were able to get it cheaper or cuz older members would have paid more for certain products which would make it unfair for either one.

Instead of multiple products in one contest at a time, let's have overlapping contests, so there'll always be something going on and you can choose contest products that suit your buildings.Gevron Enterprises wrote:2--- a more complicated CONTEST

maybe if you do not like the game as it is now... why not leave? The last few days i just read and read... but the last two items updated at this moment... i'm getting crazy!!! leave this post for suggestions and proposals... not for discussions about everything and nothing! if a suggestion is good ---> one of the moderators will answer.... if the suggestion is not good ---> one of the moderators will answer.
I have a suggestion too: for discussions about things goto the forum, User to User or general conversations...

It's already pretty large and successful.Lman360 wrote:kapi needs new features and some more advertising to become a larger, more successful game.
I'd like to see it made more of a community by enhancing the market while nerfing private contracts. This would also tend to reduce cheating. Another business game has higher fees for contracts than market offers, something to consider.
And I'd really like to see overlapping contests. The money for nothing opportunities encourage new players and allow intermediate players to advance faster if they work at it.
