Kapilands IRC chat

Post by Guest » 21.02.2008, 10:36

This is a formal suggestion and plea to the mods

Why not make an irc chat client for all kapilands users?
Many other games have this eg. --sorry, mods need me to delete this, no advertising--- etc.
It will be a lot faster for communication between users and allow lots of users to host meetings there
More contracts and agreements will be possible and make this game more realistic

Just like trade fairs where lots of companies join together and discuss products and get to co-operate more effectively

Please reply and accept this suggestion, to increase the competitiveness of this game

I've just a doubt about that.

Yes, it will be a nice feature, yes it will help few gamers about
the communication.

But not all users are familiar with IRC (an old protocol...even if still
nice), and I don't think that having the ability to do so will really push
those people to get into IRC. IRC mean install a client that some
users didn't know a word about, it mean dealing with command line
to set servers, infos, and so on.... A web chat may be more usefull
in my mind if we should go this way.

I like this game, but even if I'm familiar with IRC I don't think that
I would use it. Instead of taking me 5 minutes to deal with my account,
it may involves hours of useless speech (I assume that it would be my
fault, but even....once I'm inside I may probably take part to the
discussion.)

May be a little bit too much for many gamers. Some does not even
come on the forum. We already have a forum (ok, slow response), and
ingame messaging. Either you deal with someone online, and ingame
messaging should be sufficient, otherwise, having access to IRC with
someone not online may not be the best way to conclude contracts.

Not that I'm against the idea, at contrary I would like to be able to do
so. But I don't think it will bring so much that the staff (not payed) would
agree to deal with.

that one doesnt work

well, another clear advantage of an IRC chat client is that u can have discussions with several players, holding multilateral meetings instead of bilateral one-one meetings by igm

I remember in the german version you were able to access the official chat actually in the game.

And it really was useful. You could also use a bot to start auctions.

you were?
because it would be far lot easier to comunicate with other people and with a channel or chat client
u will be able to host meetings with several players at the same time

This will encourgae more trade in the kapilands and thus making the game mroe realistic and exciting as mroe trading goes on

yeah, i tried to play the german version for a little while, even though i don't speak german (stinkin' translators), and i would love to see some chat line put on kapilands. Think of some industries with many many products...Cars is the best example. Imagine if you could have every producer of every product before the actual car (car body, engine, tire, plastic, glass, e-comp, textile, steel, and power) on one chat channel. Every person that makes everyone of these products. It would work very well. Also, the auction things sounds cool, i didn't see it, but maybe thats because i can't read german.
