OK

To recap my suggestion is this.

To give the game an extra dimension without altering the game too much would be to introduce a semi-fixed costing system to charge for day to day runnings of the companies. This could be charged daily/weekly/monthly and would encourage activity in order to meet these costs. The costs can include any type of admin cost (excluding rent of course :D unless more changes are made) and could be charged on a number of different basis' depending on the type of expense as would happen in real business.
Why do this?
Because it will add a bit more reality to things, it will be more challenging and it will bleed out inactive players to bankruptcy. It would add more elements to how business' would operate. Turnover rates would play a bigger role.
I am fully aware of the varying ways in which someone can make bad decisions and lose money in this game but they are too easily avoidable. This would be more unavoidable.

I probably have left a few things to iron out here still.

Losing money can be fun!

Your suggestion will not happen for a simple reason. Kapilands is a game set up where you can leave and come back three months, or three years, down the road and things will be right where you left them. That is what is great about the game! If I get hurt and end up in the hospital why should I be punished for not being active?!?

A daily fee, will not happen. Period.

We ALREADY have a fee, that is the production cost. If you don't have a building producing anything then the building is closed. Closed buildings to not pay wages, etc.

Then why not join an online casino???

And i couldn't make a better case then Azer, sadly there will allways be ignorant people who refuse to read and refuse to consider the fact others who play this game for several years have allready seen the answer to their question/suggestion.

Fair enough.

I will keep my suggestions to myself.

Closed factories and buildings unfortunately do incurr costs. If you owned one you would know. I appreciate that this is a game that needs certain things to be overlooked to improve gameplay. It was just a suggestion :D

People are very passionate about this game! Good on yous! live the dream :D

Well, like the forum rules claim.
If you have a good idea about a game, contact the developers.

Your idea might be great to create a great new game, but it just doesn't fit in the current one.
I've seen your suggestion before and i'm not sure who then posted the "production cost"-answer, but i think it was Azer ;)

And just like azer answered, it is supposed to be possible to quit for as long as you want without losing anything.
I know that is 1 of the main reasons for me to continue playing this game.
I've quit this game at least 4x allready and most of them during the first year.
Had this resulted in losing my company i wouldn't have bothered restarting the game.

Somehow i get the idea all upjers games are the same regarding that, i think you can take a break at every game they have.

There are several games where you end up losing your account when you don't login.
In travian you just get destroyed when you don't login for a few days, even when you are at the top.
In Utopia you get deleted after 10 days of inactivity, but similar to travian your mates won't wait that long to kill your province.
In Hattrick you get deleted after 2 months inactivity and same with most other football management games.

Odds are i will take a break soon over here when i quit playing travian again, so this game is great for me to play when i feel like playing and just ignore when i decide i don't want to do online gaming for some time.
And i bet 90% of the people who are active will have the same idea about this game.

yeah, lots of games i played i have quit for that reason
i remember i played a paintball management game and if i didn't build up my strengths every 8 hours i'd lose all my cash and xp

Yes, I know closed buildings have costs to run. (Security systems, power, heat, air, etc.) I have owned a number of businesses over the years. However, you have to keep in mind this game really doesn't change. Which I bet most people you talk to, who have been here for awhile, like that. I like that things are rather the same as when I started the game at the beginning. Sure, there are things I wish to updated or added but that goes for any game.

You are right. When you play a game for years you tend to learn to love it and defend it passionately. Just wait until you reach 2 or 3 years of playing. :D
