New Material

I've an idea to create some new materials.

Ground - it's price is changing during the game. It's good way to make some cash. Min. 50m2 max 200 000 m2. It's price is between: 50 000 caps per m2 and 500 000 caps per m2. It can be sold to a player or to computer. The price for selling it to computer is max 200 000 per m2. Ground is needed to build: factories, car factories, mines.

Plane (can be sold in Airport) - price between 400 000 caps and 6 000 000 caps. Produced in Plane factory. There are several planes: Giant, fighter, medium, small. Materials: 2000 glass, 1500 textiles, 1200 plastic, 40 e-components, 5000 steel. Produce cost: 40 000 caps per plane.

There are some suggestions for new products coming on the forums every now and then, and it's always nice to read about them. For having seen quite a few, I'm also struck at how some have more creativity and originality than others. And certainly, adding ground as a base raw material is very catchy and above average.

That said, the game designers, while ready to make the game evolve, have a few core elements, and parts of the game's structure itself they do not want to change. You will find them listed in a sticky called "Refused suggestions ** READ THIS FIRST **", here on top of the Suggestions and Proposals section. They include:

- Changing NPC prices of raw materials (the idea behind it being not to touch expansion costs, thus also the average company's expansion pace). Adding another base material would raise the cost of expansions, and slow down everyone's growth. Or, if the other raw products were brought down, to keep the whole expansion costs stable, it would greatly harm the companies who produce raw mats, and who already don't earn all that much (compared to gas, TVs, etc), especially starter companies without big RCs, for whom those products are a very good pick.
You can read more about NPC prices and base materials in an excelent post of Knolls. I recommend the thread as a whole, since it's quite interesting too.

- The current products already in the game. New products won't be added, because there would be thousand things which could be included. Those already currently available are not all exploited, so there is definitely room for new players to pick a "not overcrowded" branch. That said, if you have ideas to make those unpopular branches more enticing, that's another story, and many interesting topics have suggestions revolving around this (this thread, for example).

For now, I'll be closing this thread.
