top quality statistics
maybe research type name is missing, i think its easy to add one column more with research type, like: gas, wardrobes, etc. if i simply want to see what highest research people have, i need to go in each showcase

There is definitely room for stats "per product". This thread is about a Q level stat per product, but there was already another thread about a production stat per product (here).
The general idea of having stats per product, rather than global like they are now, is one I really like. It is however my understanding, that multiple search criterias are more intensive than a single one. Meaning, if you say "this product" AND "the highest Q", the resulting list will be shorter than if you said "the highest Q" by itself, but building said list will pump a lot more CPU.
That said, if it's too intensive to have them live, building such stats only once an hour, or once a day, even once a week -depending how intensive it actually turns out- would still be interesting, in my opinion.
Beyond the pure stat and "I'm better than you" aspect, there are a lot of side effects though. You could use stats per product (whether it be specifically production, or high Q) to find suppliers, or potential customers. For example, someone with high Q sugar research is likely to be a sugar producer, and you could use the stats to easily find them, and contact them to supply you with it -or ask them for a quote against your current supplier-. Ever tried finding a sugar producer on the forum sales, or via faxes and showcases ? It's much harder
Of course, it's a double edge feature, because being found easier also means being spammed easier. I imagine semi-product manufacturers in particular would get a significant IGM increase if there were stats "per product", and I'm ready to understand not everyone would think of it as a good thing.
If you push the envelope all the way, it could even mean that faxes (which cost coins which support the game) wouldn't be the advertisement option reaching the largest part of the player population anymore. At least, it would be surpased by a tool reaching an equal population, but more versatile, more configurable, and not scrolling out view.
Publishing such stats goes way beyond just disclosing who manufactures the highest Q of the product you manufacture yourself, or adding an extra column. It has many implications. I just wanted to point some of them out, because I felt they really were missing in the "stats per product" discussion(s) so far.

First. Then someone is browsing like 200 showcases to track products of top qualities, do this not uses CPU? of course it uses....Soul Systems wrote:There is definitely room for stats "per product". Second. This info is already public (product, quality and company), so fear about spam is enough big already.
It's a matter of ease to accomplish, and resulting scale. Right now, it's very tedious, so only a few rare people do it.
-----
Also, this information is not really public at the moment. At least, what is currently public can not be directly exploited and is borderline useless:
a) Imagine that with his immense available budget CMB developped Q59 wood. Now imagine that no one else has wood higher than that. He is technically the "highest Q wood" person you'd like the current table to show you, if just an extra column were added. But the current showcase of CMB only shows that his own top research is Q61 wardrobes. And that's what the table would show you too. You'd never know that he owns the highest Q wood in the game, because he also owns another Q even higher than that. If the second best wood in the game was 55, and that person had 57 tables, you'd not see it either. After visiting showcase after showcase, you'd eventually pick someone whose wood research is their own highest. But it's not the same as the highest in the game.
b) Because of this, the production infos of many people are currently protected. The top research of "Catfu Ltd" is seeds. But they did not build an empire over a bilion FA (wohoo ! grats kat !) just on plantations and seeds selling. Yet all their showcase will tell you is that their top research is "Seeds Q55". It's unlikely anyone would spam them about their main activity, just based on that showcase info.
