Fourm Post Deletion

Post by Guest » 13.02.2007, 07:38

id like the ability to delete my fourm posts ... iunno if its a possibility that u can give 'self-deletion' of posts or not (like, i dont kno how much control u have over the boards and the powers bestowed upon users) but itd be nice to see :) also, itd clean up fourms like the production sales and buying where instead of closing, they could just be deleted.

I cannot say, how the other moderators think about this issue. But I just wanted to say something about the sales/ purchases forum: it is helpfull if you can read older, even closed threads. If you are looking for an appropriate price, it is much easier to find this price if you see the experience of others with this. Especially later on, if there is a trade with status symbols or buildings, this will really help a lot. (or even now with the coins; it is much easier to see, how others sold / bought their coins)

I just changed one sticky in the sales/ purchases thread, not to change the title just into closed, but to leave the title as it was before. And that's also the reason why I am against deleting posts in these forums. (except of posts, without any text in it...)

Only mods should be able to delet posts otherwise normal 'users' could abuse it for instant posting links to viruses, other games, spam etc of just posting something BAD about a company. That user coul;d then delete their post and pretend nothgin happened.

Not be able to delete your posts means the mods can control the forum

But there is no difference: if you edit it or delete it afterwards... there is always the possibility that someone saw it before...

That won't be changed. If someone wants his post to be deleted, he can send a short message to one of the mods.
