This morning i came up with a new idea that it might not be implemented but i don't loose anything to express it.
I am thinking of a company spy and a company guard.. there would be special and be used only during contests. every company will have one of them and every day the company spy could be used to go in one other company and report to you the amount of the product of the contest that day.. the spy should be used only once a day. but the spy will not do always his job..
company spy and company guard should have q and a way to raise their q is to feed the spy/guard food just like animals work.. if the spy is level is 25% more than guard then the spy will report back else the guard wins and prevents your company secrets.. the levels of the spy/guards should be confidential..
this will make contests even more fun as you will try to find what amount your opponment have in order to win him...
what do you say??

I don't like it, I like Kapilands as a business simulation, there have been more suggestions like this one and they all seem to be trying to turn it into some underground mafia game/simulation where you can spy/attack other businesses...
that's not what Kapilands is about, and I hope it'll never turn into something like that either.

I agree with Vercon sounds a bit odd to be honest, why would you need to spy? you'll find out at the end how much the other contestants have.
One idea for a contest, bearing in mind this would only fairly work if the contest product was an end product (ie wasn't needed to produce anything else) is to completely turn off that product in the kapilands market so the product can only be sold via contract and entered into the contest with no market sales (contract would be fine), all communications about sales/offers etc would have to be done via IGM, the forum and faxes, if no-one knows who's producing without the sales market could be interesting.

the point to know what amounts have other companies is to buy more to win them.. and i don't want to make it a mafia game. just to make it more fun.. the 4-5 companies that go for the gold would love to know what their opponent have in order to have more...
and closing sale market through contest is not a good idea for me, because as i am not an active player i would have to spent time to find someone to buy it..

what you're trying to achieve is playing a game of poker where everyone else shows you their cards before each turn..
the whole point of any contest is to never be sure if you're going to win or not, it's an equal struggle for everyone that wants that top spot, and it should remain that way.

but it will also be equal if everyone tries to see the opponent.. it will not make tings unfair...

i like your idea, but i dont think enough people will bother to find out how it works, also it ruins people that need the product for their business anyway.
as for the original idea, i dont really like it, its not what kapilands is about, like what vercom said

I'd probably stop entering contest if both of these suggestions were implemented.

I like the thinking, but it should be the core of another game. I agree that it doesn't quite fit in here, especially with the other issues that could be addressed instead.
Keep brain-storming! It
wasn't a bad idea.
