Demand Tweeking

Ideas how the game could be improved and suggestions for subsequent versions of the game. (this is just a space for ideas! We can't guarantee suggestions will be implemented!)

Dear Horizon,

I can understand your sentiments, of course, though I cannot agree to what you are saying here.

First of all, please let me state, that our programmers fixed quite a few issues in the past months, such as increasing the quality levels to be researched, updating the help-index inside the game, increasing the amount of characters that can be saved in the notebook, and further smaller fixes, such as incorrect image-links, etc. While these issues seem small to you, they do take time as well, especially in a code as complex as the one of Kapilands.

As you know, we have been working on, and indeed launched a new version of Kapilands in Germany, which is constantly being worked on. So while there haven't been any major changes on the existing servers (not just here, by the way, but neither on the German version - there are only two servers featuring the updated game version), the game itself is being developed.

This of course would bring up your next question - when is this version going to be launched in English. In this case, I can only quote myself:
If and when a new realm will come has to be determined by our developers. The current English realms are not filled yet, so there is technically no need to start a new server.

And, as you surely know, the general reason to start a new server is, if the existing ones are filled. Servers need to be rented and paid for, and starting new servers without an actual need is unfortunately not feasible - not for this company, nor for any other company.

So while I do understand that you are waiting for a new realm to open, please also understand that we have to make sure that need and costs are balanced.

The new German realms were started only because the existing servers were filled, and we urgently needed new servers. So will the updated version come here as well? Yes, of course it will come, but not unless it is necessary from our point of view.

Additionally, we will need to work on the language files before a new server can be started. There have been a large number of changes on the newest German realms, and our programmer is still working at completing them. So unless he is really done, translating the files would be futile - or at least twice the work. We cannot start translating until all changes have been implemented, to ensure the work doesn't need to be done twice.
That does not mean, the ideas and suggestions you post are posted futilely. All suggestions can still be reviewed, and possibly be implemented in the new version.

And please let me add once more: Your requests and questions are not posted futilely, either, they are being noticed and noted. But while we appreciate your feedback and your ideas, we are bound by bland market-forces as well. We are doing our best to support, maintain and develop this game, and yes, we do care for this game and its community.

Best regards,

I like the second idea, even if it's a bit mean.
But isn't 50% a bit high? I assume you mean 50% of the demand, which in some cases mean selling over 100.000.000 of some food item in for example Turkey R2. No one would do that unless it was profitable, and so far, most food items are barely profitable in the red zone.

But I am all for a change to shake things up and get rid of the mainstream production. I hope that I will one day be able to sell sausages to the kapi arabs and make a profit. I don't at the moment.

Meh, ive given up m8
Discussing got me no where, neither did asking, neither did being long winded that that never fails!
So methinks the arabs will never get your sausages, we will just continue to use the atomic powered robots we seem to be using now, somehow they will breed and eat all the wardrobes and drink all the gas we can throw at them using products we get from a producer that dosent employ a person, make a profit or even flat out exist.

Kapi players will continue to grind on with their day to day lives eventually priced out of the premium economy because no one is buying coins, then the new players will never buy into VIP status because mega-players continue to speculate on the market which pushes prices up even more. Eventualy they will leave.

As younger players begin to transfer to retail the lack of a production base will create inflation like we have ever seen before inevitably destroying the few profitable industries left to chose from. Kapi people will somehow continue to sustain a ratio of 10 people to every one job to provide an economy that never fluctuates with no obvious source of governance or laws.

So die-hard campaigners will still try and voice their concerns from a fourm that experiences traffic 1/20th of its old volume and even as the cash cow that has functioned for so long rots and dies the company that holds the cure in a few hundred dollars of programmer time will continue to ignore all but the most menial requests.

Eventually the upjers board will recive a report that shows a negitive profit on this branch of the game and they will move to remove one or both of the servers, but its ok they gave it their best go after all, oh wait....

Just close the thread and put me out of my misery.

Dear Horizon,

I have taken pains to extensively and reasonably respond to both your private message as well as your post here in the the forum. I must say that, at this point, I am very disappointed in your unwillingness to understand what I have been trying to explain both here on the open forum, and as a response to your PM.

I can well understand, that you may have great ideas for Kapilands, ideas you would like to be implemented, as do lots of other players have, for each and every of our games. We appreciate all of these ideas, and we have also added lots of those - here on Kapilands as well as on our other games.

I can also understand, that having played this game for a while now, you'd be interested in a few changes. I think I have also explained, that these changes are being worked on, on our new version of Kapilands, which, when both factors demand and feasibility are fulfilled, will come in English as well.

The current version as you have it, is still very playable, and is being played in various other languages, as well as in German, where the new version is available. The current version is both being maintained and cared for, and several outwardly small changes have been made in the past few months, which, though you may not have noted them, have taken our programmer quite a bit of time to implement.

At this point, I think you simply don't care to understand what I am saying here, no matter how much I am trying to explain this to you.

So I am indeed going to close this topic now, and how those players who do enjoy the game as it is, will continue to do so, regardless of your comments.

Best regards,
