Natural disasters or wars!

Post by Guest » 06.10.2009, 15:23

Have certian areas have disasters and all the buildsings in the area lose 1m^2 or something random like that. or a war and allow no production from one area for a set time. and have each area have diffent building costs and differnt probabilities of bad things happening. And maybe some kind of insurance people can buy to protect them from diasters. and this way there will be money comming out of kapilands to stop the inflation. or maybe robbers. or some corporate crimes. where one employee can steal money from your compan.

lol, i also play because you can make money easily. I did not intend that the disasters would completely kill a company. i was just trying to think of a realistic way that we could combat the inflation. becasue if everyone is making money and no one is losing any. prices will just keep going up.

Most people who play this game play it BECAUSE you cannot lose stuff. I love this game because the system and other players can never harm my company I have spend years building.

In reality, the economy would benefit from a war.

Example:
There's a war, your country needs your help. A contest is created where players create "weapons" (temporary product for the contest) which probably uses steel and chemicals etc.

Except this product is not sold for 1c, but actually has a value that the game pays the player, which can rise and fall depending on supply and quality etc.

Its more realistic than just bombing half the companies out of the game.

I'm happy to see i'm not the only one.

If people who quit the game for a few weeks would go bankrupt i doubt there will be enough left to keep it running.
I know i would quit right away.

Losing my account when i don't feel like logging in for a week??
I already have that in Travian

Im all for a war/conflict scenario!
First up, who sais there needs to be losses or damage to the loser, we would be 'supporting' the fight after all. Either as a general, nation-against-nation, war in a contest style item with money being poured into the fight on both sides until one side is exhausted or a direct head-to-head where 2 co's can duke it out supporting rival factions, after all who hasn

a bit like a new special biulding "Arms factory". From which you produce weapons which gets converted into points OR buy them and fill your armoury and get points

We could have a world-war with all countries in it. The weapons you produce are part of your country's contribution. Your country is decided by your Headquarters. And the country with the most weapons wins.

Obviously this is slightly flawed because nearly everyone is in Germany. So, anyone got any ideas on how to evenly distribute players such that it's a fair fight?

Maybe, all players can randomly be put on either France's or Germany's side. Thus, having equal number of players on either side and a fair chance?

Edit:
And the top producer of the winning country could earn a gold medal, and so on for the top 100 producers like a contest.

And maybe smaller and less valuable rewards for the top 100 producers in the losing team (although I am all for NO REWARDS FOR LOSERS).
