Anywhere in the United States calls a potato, a tater. Like Tater Tots. Which are minced potatoes and spices, pressed into a tubular shape. They are rather tasty with ketchup.

In northern Ireland we use anything for potatoes: potato, potatoes, tatters, tats, mash, spuds, spudys, po, champ, anything that we can be bothered saying.
